318 Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into 318 Stay feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Seoul. This three-star boutique property sits tucked away on a quiet side street in Jung-gu, but don’t let the modest entrance fool you — there’s something genuinely special about this place. The lobby is compact but thoughtfully designed, with clean lines and warm lighting that immediately puts you at ease after navigating Seoul’s bustling streets.
Location That Actually Matters
You know what I love about 318 Stay’s location? It’s that perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the chaos. Toegye-ro 20ga-gil might sound intimidating if you don’t speak Korean, but honestly, you’ll figure it out quickly — and your taxi driver definitely will. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Myeongdong’s shopping madness, which means you can duck back to your room when the crowds get overwhelming. The subway connections are solid too, and I mean really solid — couples seem to get this because they’ve rated the location a whopping 9.3.
The Room Experience
The rooms here aren’t huge — this is Seoul, after all — but they’re smartly laid out in a way that makes every square meter count. What struck me most was the attention to detail: proper blackout curtains (crucial for jet lag recovery), outlets exactly where you need them, and a bathroom that actually has decent water pressure. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and the air conditioning works like a dream, which you’ll appreciate during Seoul’s sticky summers. There’s also this nice touch where they’ve included local area guides that are actually useful, not just generic tourist brochures.
Neighborhood Vibes
Step outside 318 Stay and you’re in one of those Seoul neighborhoods that feels authentically Korean without being intimidating for visitors. The street food scene around here is incredible — there’s this pojangmacha (street food stall) about two blocks away that serves the best hotteok I’ve had outside of Busan. During the day, you’ve got easy access to Namsan Tower if you’re feeling touristy, but honestly, I spent most of my time just wandering the smaller alleys and discovering tiny cafes that don’t show up on any travel blogs.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — you feel it the moment you check in. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and they’re surprisingly good with English if your Korean is rusty. What really sets 318 Stay apart is how it manages to feel both distinctly Korean and completely accessible to international travelers. It’s not trying to be an upscale property, and that’s exactly why it works so well. You’re getting authentic Seoul hospitality without the pretense, in a location that couples especially seem to love for good reason. For the price point, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better positioned in this part of the city.

Guest Reviews
We really liked the location of the apartment in the heart of Seoul and we loved the host!
She was so lovely and willing to help, she is a very sweet person and took care of all our needs.
We also really loved the breakfast she prepared with so much love every morning at the rooftop.
The breakfast had everything we needed, it was the perfect stay.
If we ever comeback to Seoul, we will definitely stay here again.
Friendly host, close to Myeongdong metro, clean room
The kind host, the facilities including laundry
I had a small room but was good for a 2 night stay and solo traveller. Close to Myeondong markets but far enough away from any noise for that decent sleep. Amy was lovely.
Washing machine in room was great and to be able to clean some clothes after a week was nice
Location
The room is small but well furnished. Bathroom is cramped. It's great for the price though.
From Myeong-dong station exit 1, turn to the alley where there is eMart24 at the corner (if you see Daiso, you've gone too far), keep walking uphill until you see steps, but don't go up the steps, turn right, follow the curve, and the hotel is on the right. We arrived early, and were given a code for the front door a few days prior. That's about 10 minutes manageable uphill walk from Exit 1 since I wasn't familiar with the area.
Dropped off bags, and went out to get lunch.
Room was small, commensurate with the rate and the city. Washing machine in the room helped tremendously. Didn't have time for breakfast because we checked out early to catch KTX, but I grabbed a couple of eggs.
The coffee was good, and everything was clean and fresh everyday.
Clean
The cleanliness and the room temperature.
