Nine Tree Hotel Dongdaemun
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what struck me first about Nine Tree Hotel Dongdaemun? The lobby actually feels calm despite being right in the thick of one of Seoul‘s busiest shopping districts. I mean, when you’re this close to Dongdaemun Market – literally a few minutes’ walk – you’d expect chaos, but somehow they’ve managed to create this little bubble of modern tranquility. The design leans heavily into that minimalist Korean aesthetic without feeling cold, which honestly can be a tough balance to strike.
The location is pretty brilliant if you think about it. You’re positioned perfectly between the traditional market madness and the more upscale Dongdaemun Design Plaza area. I spent one morning wandering through the wholesale fabric markets (they open ridiculously early, around 2 AM for some sections), then came back to freshen up before heading to DDP for the evening light show. Having that home base in Seoul where you can actually retreat and recharge? Priceless. The subway connections are solid too – Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station is basically right there, so getting to Myeongdong or Gangnam doesn’t require any complicated transfers.
What I really appreciated were the smaller touches that show someone was actually thinking about traveler needs. The rooms have these great blackout curtains (essential when jet lag has you sleeping at weird hours), and the shower pressure is legitimately good – not always a given in Seoul hotels, to be honest. The soundproofing works well too, which matters because the area can get pretty lively, especially on weekends when the night markets are in full swing. I was on the seventh floor and barely heard the street noise. Oh, and they have a decent coffee situation in the lobby – not mind-blowing, but way better than the instant stuff you sometimes get stuck with. The staff’s English is pretty solid, though they really light up when you attempt even basic Korean phrases. Check-in was smooth even though I arrived during what seemed like a busy conference period. With that 8.6 rating, I wasn’t totally surprised by the consistent service quality, but it’s always nice when a place actually lives up to its reputation rather than coasting on location alone.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Seoul through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s blend of tradition and innovation.

Guest Reviews
Excellent facilities, very comfortable bed, spacious and clean room, and very professiinal, friendly and helpful staff. Comes with breakfast buffet.Great common lounge area at the reception. The christmas photo booth was a bonus treat. Very good location. Airport shuttle and bus stops about a few steps from the hotel. Several Subway stations are also walking distance. Strategically located near DDP , wholesale shopping district and several good local restaurants.
I found it to be a perfect hotel. Great room. Great and efficient service. The services you require. Good location - close to the metro and a short distance to the most lively district. But in a calmer district.
very clean and has a huge lobby area where you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee. love it that there’s filtered water dispenser on every floor, hot/cold/room temp and with ice dispenser.
I really enjoyed my 3 night stay here. My room was really comfortable and nice. I was on the 22nd floor (the highest floor) and the view was beautiful! Staff were so nice and friendly. Location is great and the convenience of storing your luggage in lockers was really helpful if you arrived earlier than check in. If I return to Seoul, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you!
Staff was accommodating to separate check-in times for our group. Nine Tree Hotel also gave us a complete refund for a double booking.
The room and bathroom were very clean, and we loved the spacious bathroom and shower. Convenient location, within walking distance to multiple subway stations. The free luggage locker and coin laundry facilities were also very convenient.
