Ramada by Wyndham Seoul Sindorim
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about Ramada by Wyndham Seoul Sindorim? It’s actually in this really interesting spot that most tourists completely miss – and honestly, that’s part of its charm. I mean, everyone’s rushing to Myeongdong or Hongdae, but here you are in Sindorim, which is sort of this bustling business district that feels authentically Korean in a way the touristy areas just don’t anymore.
The hotel itself surprised me – I’ll admit I went in with pretty standard chain hotel expectations, but there’s something about the way they’ve adapted to the local vibe that works. The lobby has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations (not just the usual “go to Namsan Tower” spiel). My room was on the 12th floor, and honestly, the view of the city sprawling out toward the Han River was pretty spectacular, especially at night when all those apartment buildings light up like a grid. The room itself was comfortable – good shower pressure, which you can’t always count on, and the bed was firm in that way Korean hotels do well. One small thing though – the air conditioning can be a bit aggressive, so pack a light sweater even in summer.
What I really loved was how connected everything felt from here. The subway situation is actually fantastic – you’re right near Sindorim Station where multiple lines intersect, so getting anywhere in Seoul is surprisingly easy. I could be in Gangnam in like 20 minutes, or over in Hongdae in about the same time. But here’s the thing locals know – this area has some incredible food that tourists never find. There’s this whole underground shopping area connected to the station that’s full of these tiny restaurants and street food stalls, and I’m talking proper Korean comfort food, not the Instagram-friendly stuff. The hotel concierge pointed me toward this dakgalbi place about a five-minute walk away that was absolutely packed with office workers every night – that’s always a good sign. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after about 10 PM, which was perfect for me since I was dealing with jet lag, but if you’re looking for late-night action, you’ll want to hop on the subway. Parking seemed abundant if you’re driving, though I stuck to public transport. Overall, it’s one of those places that feels like you’re staying where Seoul people actually live and work, rather than in some tourist bubble – and with an 8.8 rating, clearly other travelers are catching on to what makes this spot special.
