DJ Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be completely honest with you about DJ Stay – this one’s a bit of a puzzle. When I first walked into this 4-star property, I had mixed feelings that honestly haven’t quite sorted themselves out even now. The lobby has this modern, minimalist vibe going on with sleek surfaces and contemporary lighting, which initially impressed me. You know what though? Sometimes first impressions can be deceiving.
The rooms are spacious enough and decorated with clean lines and neutral tones – sort of that Instagram-ready aesthetic that looks great in photos. I mean, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are updated with decent fixtures, so you’re not roughing it by any means. Actually, the soundproofing between rooms is better than I expected, which is always a relief when you’re trying to get some rest. But here’s where things get tricky – the service and overall experience didn’t quite match what I’d typically expect from a 4-star establishment. The staff seemed understaffed or maybe just overwhelmed, and simple requests took longer than they should have. I noticed other guests having similar frustrations during my stay, which is never a good sign.
What really struck me was the disconnect between the property’s potential and its execution. The common areas have good bones – there’s a decent fitness center and the business facilities are adequate if you need to get some work done. The Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the building, which honestly can’t be taken for granted these days. But small details kept nagging at me: housekeeping was inconsistent, the front desk couldn’t answer basic questions about local recommendations, and maintenance issues seemed to linger longer than they should. I’m not trying to pile on here, but when you’re paying 4-star prices, you expect a certain level of attention to detail. The location itself isn’t bad – you’re within reasonable distance of main attractions and there are decent dining options nearby if you venture out. Just manage your expectations and maybe consider it more of a place to sleep rather than a destination experience. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, but it’s good to know going in.
