Moon Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what struck me first about Moon Stay? The name actually makes sense when you walk in – there’s this really subtle celestial theme throughout the lobby that doesn’t hit you over the head with cheesy space decorations. It’s more like… sophisticated nods to astronomy with these gorgeous constellation maps etched into the glass panels and lighting that genuinely mimics different moon phases throughout the day. I mean, I’ve stayed at plenty of themed hotels that go way overboard, but this one gets it right.
The 4-star rating is spot-on here – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but honestly, I think that works in its favor. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe with surprisingly comfortable beds (and I’m picky about mattresses). What really impressed me was the attention to small details that most places skip – like actual blackout curtains that block light completely, USB ports exactly where you need them, and bathroom lighting that doesn’t blind you at 3 AM. The shower pressure is fantastic too, which you never really appreciate until you’ve been somewhere with terrible water flow. Check-in was smooth, maybe ten minutes tops, and the staff seemed to actually know the local area when I asked about restaurants nearby.
Here’s the thing though – with a 9 out of 10 rating, you’d expect perfection, but what makes Moon Stay special is how it handles the imperfections. The Wi-Fi had a hiccup on my second day, but they fixed it within an hour and threw in late checkout without me even asking. The breakfast setup (continental style, nothing fancy) runs until 10 AM, which is later than a lot of places if you’re not a morning person. Parking was easy enough – they’ve got their own lot, though it fills up during peak times, so I’d suggest arriving before evening if you’re driving. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so if you’re looking for a party scene right outside your door, this isn’t it. But honestly, after a full day of exploring, I appreciated being able to actually sleep without street noise keeping me up. They’ve also got this small business center tucked away near the elevators that’s perfect if you need to print boarding passes or catch up on emails – nothing elaborate, but it does the job perfectly.

Guest Reviews
