May House 2
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about May House 2? The moment I walked through those doors, it felt less like checking into a hotel and more like stepping into someone’s really well-appointed home – if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and a serious attention to detail. I mean, for a 4-star place, they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between professional service and genuine warmth that so many hotels completely miss.
The staff here actually remembers your name after day one, which honestly surprised me. There’s this feeling that they’re not just going through the motions – they’ll chat about local restaurant recommendations like they’re genuinely invested in your experience, not just trying to upsell you on room service. The lobby has this comfortable buzz during evening hours, with guests naturally gathering around the seating areas, and I found myself lingering there with a book more than once. The 8.3 rating makes total sense when you experience the place firsthand – it’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top, but everything just works smoothly.
What really sold me on the place was the attention to those little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms have proper blackout curtains (thank god), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train running through your wall all night. The beds are legitimately comfortable – not just hotel-marketing comfortable, but the kind where you actually sleep well. I appreciated that the bathroom had decent water pressure and didn’t require a engineering degree to figure out the shower controls. There’s adequate closet space, which sounds boring but you’ll appreciate it when you’re not living out of a suitcase on the floor. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently throughout the building, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but here we are.
The whole place has this relaxed energy that I didn’t expect – it’s busy enough that there’s always something happening, but never chaotic or rushed. Mornings are particularly nice, with natural light streaming through the common areas and the smell of fresh coffee drifting around. I noticed they keep things clean without that overwhelming chemical smell some places have. The neighborhood itself has character too – you can walk around comfortably, and there are enough local spots within easy distance that you don’t feel trapped in a hotel bubble. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and they were flexible when I needed to adjust my departure time. It’s the kind of place where everything feels thoughtfully considered rather than just thrown together to meet some corporate standard.

Good location, well equipped with washing machine and kitchen
Great location, straight out from exit 3 which is pretty close to the AREX line. You could get to the main shopping street through exit 9 easily. Lots of food and convenience store nearby. Unit was also well equipped with daily necessities, there is a washer and dryer too.
