Hotel Pharos
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Pharos? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you, but somehow ends up doing exactly that. I mean, when you first walk in, it feels refreshingly straightforward – no marble waterfalls or chandeliers that cost more than my car, just solid hospitality that actually makes sense.
The rooms are honestly what I’d call “quietly comfortable.” Not flashy, but everything works the way it should, which is more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve stayed at recently. The beds are surprisingly good – I’m talking proper sleep here, not that tossing-and-turning nonsense you get at chain hotels sometimes. And here’s something I appreciated: the rooms are actually quiet. You’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway or the ice machine grinding away at 2 AM. Simple thing, but it matters when you’re trying to get some rest.
What really won me over, though, was the staff’s approach to service. They’re not hovering around trying to upsell you on spa treatments or fancy dinners, but when you need something – directions, restaurant recommendations, or just a genuine answer about what’s worth seeing – they actually know what they’re talking about. The front desk folks seem to live in the area, not just work there, if that makes sense. I asked about finding a good local spot for breakfast (because hotel breakfast gets old fast), and instead of pointing me toward the tourist traps, they sent me somewhere their own families probably eat. That kind of insider knowledge is worth its weight in gold when you’re somewhere new. Look, it’s a solid three-star spot that punches above its weight class – the 7.9 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense, it’s earned. You’re getting honest value here, the kind of place where you sleep well, the shower has decent pressure, and you leave feeling like you got what you paid for without any unpleasant surprises on the bill. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need from a hotel stay.

Guest Reviews
We loved everything about this hotel. Hotel Pharos exceeded our expectations. it is like a 5 star hotel that is very suitable for the budget and the price is not that high. The surroundings are very clean and there is no visible dust. All the staff are also kind. Also, the online assistant always replies to my questions online. The comfort room was very clean and the ambiance was very fragrant and cozy, very clean indeed! We will come back here again because it is also close to restaurants and the metro. Our sleeping place was very comfortable because of Hotel Pharos. We will definitely come back, Thank you!
I like the location of the hotel as it is located between subway line 9 Sport Complex stop and line 2 Jamsil saenae stop. Airport bus 6006 goes direct to both Sport Complex and Jamsil saenae stops making it's very convenience to travel to and from the airport to the hotel. Location is buzzing with shops. The room is spacious, very comfortable.
Clean, big room and bathroom, safe and good location.
Good location near subway stations. Travel into the touristy area is about 50 minutes.
Rooms were very spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and particular compliments to Clara who was very welcoming and chatty each day and helped us with planning and bookings.
Staff and Location
The bed was comfortable, and the jacuzzi bathtub was a nice touch. We loved the location with the nearby restaurants and proximity to public transportation.
The room worked nicely, and the staff (especially Clara) was excellent. Compared to other reviews, I didn't hear much noise. The hotel's location to the transit system was fairly easy for us to use. The cleaning staff was also very nice and did a great job. We slept well, and the internet wifi worked well for us. For AC, be sure to let the staff know what temperature you would like the room, so they can program that in when you turn on the unit in the room.
I'm going to list a few things in the next section that may appear long, but it's only so that the hotel will continue to improve. If I ever go to Seoul again, I wouldn't mind staying here at all.
Great location and an amazing value.
FRIENDLY STAFF
The Location is perfect if you are attending concerts at Jasmil Arena. Lots of eatery around the hotel too. There’s also a photoism booth nearby.
