Toyoko Inn Seoul Yeongdeungpo
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Toyoko Inn Seoul Yeongdeungpo, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a standard business hotel. But you know what? Sometimes those assumptions turn out to be completely wrong, and this place actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The thing about staying in Yeongdeungpo is that most tourists completely skip this area, which is honestly their loss. Sure, it’s not as flashy as Gangnam or as trendy as Hongdae, but there’s something refreshingly authentic about being here among the office workers and locals going about their daily lives. The hotel sits right in the heart of this business district, and I mean that in a good way – you’re surrounded by these incredible local restaurants that actually cater to Korean professionals rather than tourists. There’s this amazing galbitang place literally two blocks away that I stumbled upon around 11 PM (because jet lag, obviously), and the ajumma there looked genuinely shocked to see a foreigner but served up the most incredible short rib soup I had in Seoul.
What really won me over about this Toyoko Inn was how efficiently everything worked without feeling sterile. The rooms are compact – I mean, this is Seoul, so that’s expected – but they’ve somehow managed to fit everything you actually need without it feeling cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and honestly, after walking around the city all day, that’s what matters most. The staff at the front desk spoke decent English, which was helpful when I needed directions to the nearest convenience store at midnight (it’s about a three-minute walk, by the way). One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, despite being in such a central location. I was worried about street noise, but the windows actually do a solid job of blocking out the city sounds. The Wi-Fi was fast enough for video calls back home, and the little touches like having a decent hair dryer and actual hangers in the closet showed they understand what travelers need. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM because they seem to run a tight ship with their cleaning schedule. The breakfast situation is pretty standard Japanese-style hotel fare – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but definitely adequate if you’re rushing out to catch the subway. Speaking of which, Yeongdeungpo Station is close enough that you’ll never stress about getting anywhere in the city, and IFC Mall is right there if you need familiar international brands or want to catch a movie.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Seoul at least two months ahead for major events like K-pop concerts and cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular attractions.

Guest Reviews
Everything was great. Location, accommodation, breakfeast. But, my highest score go to the reception staff. A girl, whose name I am unable to recall, took the task of finding my lost backpack on an express train from airport to Seoul. She made her calls and gave me the right information to pick it up at Seoul metro station. It was fantastic!
