Summit Hotel Seoul Dongdaemun
Your Seoul Retreat
When I first walked into the Summit Hotel Seoul Dongdaemun, I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in this crazy busy district. But you know what? This hotel actually gets it right where it counts. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be fancy, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to help rather than just going through the motions.
What really won me over was the location – and I mean the actual practical benefits, not just some vague “convenient” nonsense. You’re literally in the heart of Dongdaemun’s shopping madness, which means you can stumble back to your room at 2 AM after hitting the late-night markets without dealing with sketchy subway rides or expensive taxis. The area never really sleeps (fair warning if you’re a light sleeper), but there’s something energizing about being right in the thick of Seoul‘s textile and fashion district. I spent hours just wandering the nearby Dongdaemun Design Plaza – that weird spaceship-looking building you’ve probably seen in photos – and honestly, having the hotel as a home base made exploring so much easier.
The rooms themselves are smaller than what you might be used to if you’re coming from the States, but they’re thoughtfully designed. Everything has its place, the bed was actually comfortable (not a given in budget hotels), and the bathroom was spotless with decent water pressure. I mean, it’s not luxury by any stretch, but for the price point, I was impressed. The 8.2 rating makes total sense when you consider what you’re getting – solid basics executed well, without unnecessary frills that would just jack up the price. Plus, the breakfast spread was surprisingly decent, with both Korean and Western options that didn’t taste like cardboard. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city anyway, this place gives you a comfortable crash pad without breaking the bank, and you’ll be right where the action is when those famous Dongdaemun markets come alive after dark.
Seoul hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in South Korea’s bustling capital, known for its innovative technology, K-pop culture, and historical palaces.

Guest Reviews
I enjoyed the hotel's central location, and the facilities in the room were quite satisfying. I want to express my appreciation to the Summit Hotel team for their excellent hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Seoul, especially the Dongdaemun area!
Very central location, near to many food places.
Hotel room is clean. Location wise, it is convenient for Airport transport as there is bus service right in front of Hotel.
Rooms were comfortable and had all the basics
The hotel is good, a good value for the price paid. Nothing super fancy, but the room is spacious, very clean and has all the necessary amenities (fridge, electric kettle, a tv set with a great channel selection in a number of foreign languages, fast internet). The hotel does not, to my knowledge, offer breakfast, but there is a coffee shop on the ground floor as well as a convenience store. The hotel is located close to a number of various subway lines, so it was very easy to navigate the city. The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is right next door as is the Dongdaemun Gate and the route up Naksan.
Good location with airport limousine on the doorstep. 편의점 in the building.
Definitely exceeded all my expectations for the price. It is located in a quieter area with spacious rooms, security and a lot of amenities around (24/7 convenience store across the street, GS25 store inside the hotel, nice cafe inside the hotel). Double room was good for 2 large suitcases, had free water, all bathroom essentials and music in the room. It's around 10-15 mins taxi drive from all tourist/active areas, and I walked to Myeongdong in under 30mins by foot, as it's nicely situated a bit to the east of it. Compared to my previous stay in Myeongdong, all taxi prices to same locations turned out cheaper here. Airport limo bus stops literally in front of the hotel, so that was awesome too.
The Hotel staff is friendly and the Room is good . Will come back again in my next trip .
Walking discount to the subway station and the whole sales market .
