Seoul Kyeongbokgung Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking up to Seoul Kyeongbokgung Stay for the first time, I was honestly surprised by how tucked away it feels despite being right in the heart of Seoul. The narrow street — Jahamun-ro 19-gil — winds through one of those neighborhoods where traditional hanoks sit next to modern buildings, and you get this sense that you’ve stumbled onto something locals actually know about. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy, but there’s something immediately welcoming about the entrance that made me think I’d made the right choice.
The Jongno-gu Advantage
You know what really struck me about staying here? The location is absolutely unbeatable — I mean, there’s a reason couples rate this area so highly for romantic getaways. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Gyeongbokgung Palace (hence the name), and I found myself wandering over there multiple times just because I could. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of traditional tea houses and modern cafes, plus you’re close enough to Insadong that you can easily duck over for some serious art browsing. I actually discovered some incredible temporary art galleries just by following the winding streets around the hotel.
The Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — honestly, it felt more like staying in a well-appointed Seoul apartment than a typical hotel. The windows looked out onto the quiet street below, and I loved how the morning light filtered in through the traditional-style screens. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept well (which, let’s be real, doesn’t always happen when you’re dealing with jet lag), and the bathroom was modern and spotless. Everything you need is there and it’s done well.
Exploring the Area
What I really appreciated was how the hotel staff seemed genuinely excited to share local recommendations. They pointed me toward some fantastic walking tours that started right from the neighborhood, and I ended up joining a bar crawl one evening that took me to places I never would have found on my own. The whole Jongno-gu area feels like it’s designed for wandering — you’ll find yourself discovering hidden courtyards, small galleries, and these amazing little restaurant spots that serve incredible Korean comfort food. I mean, I thought I knew Seoul pretty well, but staying in this particular pocket of the city showed me a completely different side.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Seoul Kyeongbokgung Stay isn’t going to wow you with a fancy lobby or a rooftop pool, but that’s sort of the point. What it does offer is this authentic Seoul experience that feels both central and residential at the same time. The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense when you consider that you’re getting excellent value in one of the city’s most culturally rich neighborhoods. For couples especially, there’s something really special about being able to stroll to the palace for sunrise, grab coffee from a local spot, and still be close enough to the main tourist areas when you want them. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re actually living in Seoul for a few days rather than just passing through.

Guest Reviews
The place was really pretty and spacious. The bathroom was new and the cleanest bathroom i've ever seen in Korea. The location was nice if you wanted to stay close to Gwanghwamun and palaces. It was a perfect place to chill at with friends!
We had a great stay! The location is perfect - there is a bus stop in only 2 minutes walking distance. The apartment was very quiet although it is very close to a busy street.
The apartment was a max 15 minute walk from the Gyeongbokgung Station. There are so many restaurants and cafes on he way to the apartment. It's located in a residential, quiet location, yet so close to Gyeongbokgung Palace. Everything you need is provided...except your own toothbrush.:) Easy to use the buses and subway (line 3). There is an airport limousine bus at Exit 2, Gyeongbokgung Station and it's so easy to use to get to the airport. We stayed 5 nights and everyone loved the place. It was great to go out in the morning, come back and have a break or rest from the heat and then go out again in the evening. There is a fantastic Jeju Black Pork BBQ restaurant close by. It was so good we went there twice and both times it was delicious. The apartmtnent is great value for money when sharing with 4 -5 people and a nicer experience than a hotel.
It was a lot prettier than the photos and had a nice space where we could all sit together and talk.
House was clean and neat. This would have been a good place for 2-3pax that don't mind a smaller space.
일단 압도적으로 위치가 너무 좋았구요 공간도 충분히 넓고 쾌적해서 다섯명이 지내기에 충분했고 이불과 수건도 넉넉했어요
Chỗ ở thuận lợi, gần đường lớn, gần bến xe bus, gần cung rất tiện đi lại, mỗi ngày đi ra chờ xe bus lại được ngắm hàng cây ngân hạnh lá vàng rực đẹp nao lòng
