Orakai Cheonggyesan Hotel, BW Premier Collection
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Orakai Cheonggyesan Hotel, BW Premier Collection, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building has this modern, almost minimalist vibe that could either be really sophisticated or just plain sterile, you know? But once I stepped inside, it became clear they’d nailed the sophisticated part. The lobby has these clean lines and warm wood accents that actually feel welcoming rather than cold, which is honestly harder to pull off than you’d think.
What really struck me about this place is how quiet it gets, especially considering you’re still in Seoul. I mean, the city never truly sleeps, but there’s something about being tucked away near Cheonggyesan that gives you this sense of breathing room. The mountain’s literally right there – not just some distant view you squint at through smog, but actual green space you can walk to if you’re feeling ambitious. During cherry blossom season (and trust me on this), the whole area transforms into something pretty magical. I stayed here in late spring once and ended up taking way too many photos of the walking trails nearby.
The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. You’ve got floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light, and the beds are legitimately comfortable – not just hotel-marketing comfortable, but the kind where you actually sleep through the night. The bathrooms are spacious with these rain showers that have proper water pressure, which honestly makes or breaks a hotel stay for me. One thing I particularly appreciated was how well-soundproofed everything is. Seoul can be intense with all the traffic and construction noise, but I barely heard anything from the street or neighboring rooms.
The staff here genuinely seems to get that international travelers might need a little extra help navigating the area. They’re not pushy about it, but they’ll actually sit down with you and mark up a map if you ask, pointing out which subway exits to use or where to grab good Korean BBQ without the tourist markup. Speaking of location – while you’re not in the thick of Myeongdong or Hongdae, the subway connections are solid, and sometimes it’s nice to come back to somewhere that feels a bit more residential and calm.
I did notice the hotel tends to fill up during conference season (there are some business complexes nearby), so if you’re looking for that quieter vibe, maybe avoid booking during major industry events. Also, while the on-site restaurant is decent, the real food gems are in the neighborhood – there’s this incredible samgyeopsal place about a ten-minute walk away that locals actually frequent, not just hotel guests.
The 8.5 rating this place has? Yeah, that feels about right. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Seoul, but it does what it does really well. Clean, comfortable, thoughtfully located, and run by people who seem to actually care about whether you have a good stay. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Seoul hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in South Korea’s bustling capital, known for its innovative technology, K-pop culture, and historical palaces.

The location is very good, easy to use Metro train. Quite environment.
Quiet and comfortable rooms.
Great location, basically adjacent to a metro station.
As an English speaker, the staff took great care of me, they were amazingly friendly, and very helpful when calling to the front desk. I felt so at home that I extended my stay for an additional 5 days!
Less crouded, staff was supportive, good breakfast
Room was spacious, service was prompt
During a month-long work assignment, I had the pleasure of staying at Orakai and it was nothing short of exceptional. Orakai hotel provided the perfect blend of spaciousness, comfort, and hospitality.
One of the standout features of this hotel is its spaciousness. Unlike the other hotel I stayed at, where I felt confined and restricted, the rooms here are generously sized, providing ample space to move around and unwind after a long day of work.
The calming colors and tasteful decor added to the ambiance, creating a serene and peaceful environment that was conducive to relaxation.
Overall, my experience at exceeded my expectations in every way in korea, because compared by other hotels, this was one of the most ones I felt cozy and comfortable in, from it being the spacious and comfortable accommodation to the attentive staff. it truly felt like a home away from home. Without a doubt.
A plus is its location 1 minute away from the metro and everywhere is from 12 to 34 mns maximum by metro.
The room was very clean and the proximity to the subway station made travel very convenient
It’s very close to the subway, convenience store located at property, everything is super clean and looks new. Staff members were super friendly and tried to help wherever possible
Very clean, comfortable and cozy room, nice bathroom, kind and helpful staff. Underground right next to the hotel, around 35 minutes to Seoul city centre.
