About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

You know what really caught me off guard about Luxury hanok with private bathtub – SN08? I mean, the name’s a bit of a mouthful, but honestly – this place delivers exactly what it promises. Walking into a traditional Korean hanok after months of sterile hotel rooms was like stepping into someone’s carefully curated dream. The wooden floors have that perfect creaky charm that makes you want to pad around in socks, and there’s this subtle scent of cedar that just sort of wraps around you the moment you step inside.

The private bathtub situation is absolutely the star here, though. I’m talking about a proper soaking tub – not one of those cramped Western things where your knees are practically touching your chin. It’s positioned perfectly so you can actually see out into the courtyard while you’re relaxing, which sounds weird but is surprisingly magical, especially in the evening when the traditional lighting kicks in. The water pressure’s solid too, something you definitely can’t take for granted in heritage buildings like this. What impressed me most was how they managed to blend modern comfort with traditional aesthetics without making it feel forced or touristy – you know how some places try too hard and end up feeling like a theme park? Not here.

The whole experience feels incredibly intimate and peaceful. You’ll notice the attention to detail pretty quickly – from the way the ondol heating system keeps everything perfectly warm (your feet will thank you) to the thoughtful placement of reading nooks near the windows. I actually spent way more time just sitting in the courtyard than I planned, watching how the light changed throughout the day. The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not perfect (the WiFi can be a bit spotty in some corners, and check-in took longer than expected), but the imperfections somehow add to the charm rather than detract from it. This is definitely one of those places where you’ll find yourself taking way too many photos and actually meaning it when you tell people back home that they “have to experience this.” Just don’t expect to rush through your morning routine – that bathtub has a way of making you rethink your entire relationship with hotel stays.

The hotel location is perfect as its close to the palace and you can find lots of cute cafes in the area too. The night life is amazing as resturants are open till late and you'll see local and tourists enjoy good food and drinks. I usually sleep poorly in hotels, but the bed was very comfortable, so I slept like a baby everyday. The private bathtube was a great experience too. Would recommend staying in the hanok for atleast two nights. It's in a quiet neighborhood, and you can hear the bird sing until evening. Very peaceful indeed.
