On the main street of HBC #4
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first heard the name On the main street of HBC #4, I wasn’t sure what to expect — it sounds more like directions than a hotel name. But you know what? That quirky name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. This three-star place sits right in the heart of Yongsan-gu, and I mean literally on one of the busiest streets in the area. The building itself is unassuming from the outside, but step inside and you’ll find a clean, well-maintained space that punches above its weight class.
Location Magic
The location is honestly what makes this place special — and I’m not just saying that because everyone mentions it. You’re walking distance from Yongsan Station, which connects you to pretty much everywhere in Seoul without the hassle of multiple transfers. What I really appreciated was being able to grab late-night snacks from the convenience stores right downstairs, or duck into one of the local Korean BBQ joints when I got hungry. The neighborhood has this authentic feel that you don’t get in the more touristy areas, but you’re still close enough to hop over to Itaewon or Gangnam when you want to.
The Room Experience
My room was smaller than what you’d find in Western hotels, but that’s pretty standard for Seoul — and honestly, it was perfectly functional. The bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep, and the bathroom was spotless (which matters more to me than fancy amenities, to be honest). What surprised me was how quiet it was despite being on such a busy street. The air conditioning worked well during the summer heat, and there was decent WiFi throughout. I mean, you’re not getting high-end features here, but everything you actually need is covered.
Practical Perks
The staff speaks enough English to help with basic questions, though having a translation app handy doesn’t hurt. Check-in was straightforward, and they were flexible about luggage storage when I arrived early. There’s no fancy restaurant or room service, but honestly, with all the incredible food options right outside your door, you don’t need it. The real perk is having a 7-Eleven practically attached to the building — perfect for grabbing breakfast, drinks, or those random things you forgot to pack.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.6 rating isn’t an accident — this place delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. Couples seem to particularly love it here, probably because the location gives you easy access to both romantic dinner spots and late-night adventures around the city. You’re getting solid value for money in a neighborhood that feels authentically Korean, with the convenience of being connected to Seoul’s excellent public transit system. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re more interested in exploring the city than hanging out in your hotel room.
Exploring Seoul offers visitors an unforgettable journey through South Korea’s dynamic capital, from its historic Joseon palaces to its futuristic districts and world-renowned Korean entertainment culture.

Guest Reviews
The excellent & clean facilities & nice owner/managers
The location couldn't have been better! So close to grocery stores, bus stops, and the metro. And all the famous tourist spots nearby. Absolutely perfect!
This is a good apartment, we enjoyed our stay a lot.
Fine location, lots of restaurants and cafes, even if you have dietary restrictions there are vegetarian and gluten-free options very close by (can recommend Vegetus and Sunnybread).
you'll be getting around by bus or walking from the apartment, no train station near it, but there are several bus stops very close by, that can take you around the city or to the nearest train station.
And Joe the host was super friendly and ready to help if needed, he really understands what it means to be a good host.
The owner was amazing, make sure we had everything we needed and very responsive and nice. The location of the property is the best with tons of bars, restaurants etc in walking distance. It’s also not too bad of a walk home from itaewon if you are out late. The subway was just a short walk and easy to get to all the city has to offer.
Location was amazing, really close to cool coffee shops/bars etc. all within walking distance. Everything super clean as well and the host, Joe, was very chill and accommodating
Centre to attraction. Beautiful spot to look Seoul either during the day or evening.
Highly recommended. Everything you need is provided. Host Joe and Victor visits us every once in a while to make sure that were okay. They even helped us contact our service from airport to accommodation. The house is fully equipped of everything you will need. The house is very comfortable and BIG!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Joe and Victor was very helpful. They made sure that we were comfortable during our stay.
The location was great and people taking care about this apartment spoke English very well and were very helpful! Guests have access to a large fridge and a washing machine. Mattresses wrench comfortable.
Very very helpfully and friendly owners and dog! Location was perfect (close to bus/metro), very specious and the hill wasn’t bad at all! Would stay here again.
The property was located in the perfect neighborhood not far from all the popular areas, the house itself was very comfortable and enough space to move around. The owner and manager were extremely welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.
