MoonStay
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about MoonStay, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come when your expectations are pretty low. This little gem completely caught me off guard, and I mean that in the best possible way.
What really struck me about MoonStay is how they’ve managed to nail all the basics that bigger hotels somehow mess up. The check-in was refreshingly smooth – none of that awkward standing around while they “find your reservation” drama. The staff actually seemed like they wanted to be there, which is rarer than it should be these days. My room was spotless (and I’m pretty picky about that stuff), with this surprisingly comfortable bed that didn’t feel like sleeping on a rock or sinking into quicksand. The Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the entire property – I know, revolutionary concept, right?
Here’s the thing that really impressed me though: the attention to small details that make a difference when you’re tired from traveling. The shower had proper water pressure, the air conditioning didn’t sound like a jet engine, and there were enough outlets near the bed that I didn’t have to choose between charging my phone and using the bedside lamp. The housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work – towels were fresh, surfaces were actually clean (not just wiped down), and they didn’t leave that overwhelming chemical smell that some places think equals “clean.” I stayed there during what seemed like a busy period, but the noise levels were totally manageable. You could hear some hallway activity during peak hours, but nothing that kept me awake or disrupted morning calls. The breakfast situation was simple but done right – fresh coffee, decent pastries, and they kept everything stocked even when it got busy. What I appreciated most was the genuine vibe of the place. It felt like they were focused on actually taking care of guests rather than just going through hospitality motions. For a 3-star spot, MoonStay punches well above its weight class, and honestly, I’d choose it over some of the pricier options I’ve stayed at recently.
To book hotel in Seoul during the vibrant cherry blossom season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts K-culture enthusiasts and modern travelers from around the world.
