Min Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Min Stay, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounds a bit generic, right? But sometimes those unassuming places surprise you the most. This 3-star spot turned out to be one of those hidden gems that actually gets the basics really, really right.
What struck me first was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things sorted for you. I mean, you know how some places feel like they’re just going through the motions? Not here. The front desk person – I think her name was Sarah – remembered my coffee preference by day two, which honestly made my mornings so much better. The rooms themselves are clean and thoughtfully laid out, nothing fancy but everything works properly. And you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. The beds are actually comfortable (not those rock-hard mattresses some 3-stars saddle you with), and they’ve got decent blackout curtains if you’re trying to sleep in. I noticed they keep the common areas really well-maintained too – there’s this cozy seating area near the lobby that’s perfect for catching up on emails or just people-watching.
Here’s the thing that really won me over though – the attention to small details that most places completely miss. The WiFi actually works throughout the building (shocking, I know), the shower pressure is solid, and they stock the kind of toiletries that don’t make your skin feel like sandpaper. Parking was straightforward too, which saved me the headache of circling blocks looking for street spots. The location puts you within walking distance of some really good local spots – there’s this little coffee shop about two blocks away that locals swear by, and honestly, their pastries are better than anything you’ll find in the hotel chains nearby. During my stay, I never felt like I was stuck in a tourist bubble, which I really appreciated. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where real people actually go about their daily lives. One small thing – if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs since there can be some street noise in the early morning, but it wasn’t anything terrible. Overall, Min Stay delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense, and sometimes that straightforward approach is refreshing in a world full of oversold, underdelivered hotel experiences.
