Le Méridien Seoul Myeongdong Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Le Méridien Seoul Myeongdong? The lobby actually feels calm despite being smack in the middle of one of Seoul‘s busiest shopping districts. I mean, you step outside and you’re immediately hit with the energy of Myeongdong’s street food vendors and endless cosmetics shops, but inside there’s this unexpectedly sophisticated quiet that makes you want to linger over coffee in their lounge area.
The location is honestly perfect if you’re the type who wants to dive headfirst into Korean culture – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Myeongdong Cathedral (gorgeous at night, by the way) and about five minutes from Namdaemun Market if you’re up for some serious bargain hunting. What I really appreciated though was how the hotel staff seemed to genuinely understand that most guests would be out exploring Seoul until late, so they’re incredibly accommodating about late check-ins and storing luggage. The concierge desk has these hand-drawn neighborhood maps that are way more useful than anything you’ll find on your phone – they mark the best late-night snack spots and which subway entrances are closest when you’re loaded down with shopping bags.
The rooms themselves have this clean, modern French aesthetic that somehow doesn’t clash with being in Korea – though honestly, after spending days wandering through traditional palaces and ultra-modern districts, you sort of appreciate having a neutral space to decompress. The beds are properly firm (none of that overly soft hotel bed nonsense), and the bathrooms are spacious enough that you won’t be bumping elbows if you’re traveling with someone. I particularly loved the floor-to-ceiling windows in most rooms – waking up to see the controlled chaos of Myeongdong coming to life below is pretty spectacular. The soundproofing is solid too, which you’ll definitely appreciate since the area stays lively well into the night. One small thing that impressed me: they have these bathroom amenities that actually smell good and don’t dry out your skin, which sounds minor until you’ve stayed in places where the soap feels like it could strip paint. The hotel restaurant serves decent Korean-French fusion, though honestly with all the incredible street food right outside, you might find yourself eating there less than you’d expect. Still, their breakfast spread is worth getting up for – proper croissants alongside Korean banchan, which is exactly the kind of cultural mixing that makes traveling fun.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Seoul through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s blend of tradition and innovation.

Reviews of Le Méridien Seoul Myeongdong
Helen from United Kingdom (9/10)
The rooms were really spacious for a city. The location was incredible, in the heart of Myeongdong. There were extra things that made the stay brilliant: the swimming pool was great for the kids to cool down after shopping, free Haagen Daz by the reception area, and if you are really stuck with no clean clothes, you can ask to use the laundry room at the adjacent Moxy. Wendy was really welcoming and helpful and the concierge team were great for organising our taxis. Overall, a great stay and I will come again when I travel to Seoul.

Nice gym and location. Strange and kind of tacky lobby. Decent breakfast buffet but could have had more day to day variety.
Staff was super-polite and helpful.

The hotel is located in a very busy area of Seoul, but it's peaceful and quiet. The room was unexpectedly big with a large bathroom, I enjoyed it. It was really the comfort you'd expect from such hotel. The breakfast was exceptionally good and I mean it – there were so many different top quality food choices that I could eat something new every morning of my 5 night stay. I loved it, would definitely stay again.
