Westin Josun Seoul Hotel
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of luxury hotels in Seoul, but the Westin Josun Seoul Hotel honestly surprised me in ways I wasn’t expecting. You walk into that lobby and there’s this immediate sense that they’ve figured out how to blend Korean hospitality with that polished international hotel vibe – it’s not trying too hard to be either Western or Korean, which I actually really appreciate.
The thing that struck me most was how the staff genuinely seemed to anticipate what you needed before you even asked. I mean, I’ve heard people say that about hotels before, but this felt different. When I was clearly struggling with my terrible Korean while trying to ask about nearby subway stations, the concierge didn’t just give me directions – he sketched out a little map showing me which exit to use at Euljiro 1-ga Station and even marked where the good coffee shops are along the way. That kind of local insight you just don’t get everywhere. The rooms are what you’d expect from Westin – those heavenly beds live up to the hype, honestly – but what I didn’t expect was how quiet everything was despite being right in the heart of Jung-gu. You’re literally walking distance from Myeongdong and all that chaos, but somehow the soundproofing keeps you completely insulated from the street noise below.
What really won me over though was the attention to those little details that matter when you’re dealing with jet lag and trying to figure out a new city. The bathroom amenities were top-notch (those rainfall showers are no joke), but more importantly, they had proper outlets near the desk and bedside – sounds basic, I know, but you’d be amazed how many five-star places still make you choose between charging your phone and having decent lighting. The fitness center stays open 24/7, which was a lifesaver for my messed-up sleep schedule, and the pool area actually has some natural light, not like those dungeon-level hotel pools you sometimes get stuck with. I will say the breakfast buffet leans heavily international, so if you’re hoping for an authentic Korean morning spread, you might want to venture out to the street food vendors around Myeongdong instead – though honestly, their coffee game is strong enough that I found myself lingering over multiple cups while planning my day. The location really is the sweet spot for exploring Seoul – close enough to the palaces and shopping districts that you can walk, but tucked away enough that you’re not constantly fighting tourist crowds just to get in and out of your hotel.

Guest Reviews
Noiseless, helpful and nice staff. The entire stay was pleasant and comfortable, so much so that I extended my stay in Korea by two weeks. Perfect location and convenient additional services, e.g. massage. I felt like at home. Thank you!
Location was great. Staff was friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Always with a smile on their faces. Guest relations officer, Ms.Lim, came to bring me a small cake in our room as it was my birthday and it was a pleasant surprise. I love the smell and cleanliness of our room and the soft beddings as well. Breakfast was fantastic. Fresh shrimp and vegetables, smoked salmon was excellent and not too salty. We will surely come back.
location of hotel is convenient, many convenient stores around the vicinity.
The location , the staff , the food
Location was central to everything, we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Seoul for our first visit, very high end hotel with great restaurants and bar on location
Staff were very nice and helpful.
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy and although food in the lounge is limited it is very yummy. A staff member came by our room and gave us a welcome gift of nuts. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I return to Seoul.
staff and service
I liked the proximity to Myeongdong and the altar of heaven next to the hotel. I liked the history of the hotel.
Very happy with the room and in a very good location. Kind staff and helpful all the time. Great customer service. Near Myung-dong and palaces, restaurants.
