Hotel Peyto Gangnam
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Hotel Peyto Gangnam, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in one of Seoul‘s priciest districts. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most. This little gem sits right in the heart of Gangnam, and while it doesn’t have the flashy lobby of those massive chain hotels, it’s got something way better – actual character and staff who seem to genuinely care about your stay.
The rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed, which honestly means more to me than marble bathrooms I’ll never use. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being surrounded by all the Gangnam action. I mean, you’re literally minutes from Gangnam Station and all those incredible Korean BBQ spots everyone raves about, but somehow the sound doesn’t carry much into the rooms. The beds are surprisingly comfortable too – I’m pretty picky about mattresses after years of hotel stays, and I actually slept well here. The bathroom setup is compact but smart, with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works (you’d be amazed how many hotels get this wrong).
What sets this place apart is the little things that show someone’s paying attention. The front desk staff spoke excellent English and actually knew the neighborhood – not just the tourist stuff, but where to find a decent pharmacy at 10 PM or which subway exit gets you closest to the good shopping without the crowds. Check-in was smooth, no waiting around with forms, and they had this nice touch of providing local area maps with handwritten notes about nearby restaurants. The location is actually perfect if you want to experience real Gangnam life without paying luxury hotel prices. You’re walking distance from Bongeunsa Temple (great for morning walks), and the whole Apgujeong shopping area is right there when you need retail therapy. I stayed during peak business season and the 8.2 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the fundamentals really well. The elevator’s a bit slow and the hallways could use some updating, but honestly, for the price point and location, these are pretty minor complaints. If you’re looking for a solid base to explore Gangnam without breaking the bank, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

Guest Reviews
Location. Airport bus stop is just infront of the hotel. Yangjae metro station is just few mins from the hotel. Very easy access to travel around the city. Near with cobvenience store and restaurant.
The hotel is a no-frills but decent and comfortable hotel. Really good for solo or duet travellers but may not be so for family with young children. Generally clean and everything seems to work (shower, aircond, blinds etc). The location is good. To the right and left of the hotel there are many 24-hour convenient stores and also within walking distance to the right an eatery that serves hot meals 24 hour at an affordable price. There is a subway station Yangjae within 5 mins walk and 15-20mins walk to the main shopping area of Gangnam. Plenty of restaurants behind the hotel or about 10 to 20 mins walk around the vicinity. I love how they have a weighing machine for your luggage! Really nice and practical if you’re in Seoul for shopping.
Friendly staff, very clean hotel, convenient position in Gagnam very near the metro station. Easily accessible from Incheon Airport with a comfortable limousine bus.
It was in a good location close to the subway. There was also lots of great restaurants around the hotel, not to mention a Karaoke on every corner!
My preferred accommodation in Seoul is Hotel Peyto which is due to the convenience of the location. It's very near Yangjae station - about a 3 minute walk to Exits 1 and 2. It's very near Gangnam - only one stop away in the Shinbundang metro line. There are plenty of buses which stop opposite the hotel. There are few banks near the hotel where AUD could be changed. The rooms are small and compact but have the necessities within the small space. The 6009 airport bus, stops opposite the hotel and it's so convenient to get to Incheon airport in Seoul which costs 17,000 krw. As our flight was in the night, we made use of the late check out option for 11,000 krw per hour. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby including a KFC which is about 10 minutes away by foot.
This is a very well run hotel. While the rooms are small, I believe this is par for the course in downtown Seoul. The staff were friendly and they have a good breakfast spread. The location is nice, just a short walk to the subway. There is a gym close by that charges $15US for a day pass. Laundry machine on site is a big plus for someone who is staying for a long period like me. This hotel caters to business travelers, but I found it very suitable for vacationers.
Room is clean but I do not remember about the view.
Location is pretty good, not in the centre of Gangnam but I enjoy walking from the Gangnam station to the hotel.
All in all, I have a pleasant time there.
