DAON HOUSE – 3min to Seoul Station

I’ll be honest – when I first heard about DAON HOUSE – 3min to Seoul Station, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, places that close to major train stations can be hit or miss, you know? But this little gem actually surprised me in the best way possible. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone really cares about this place – it’s got that warm, residential feel that makes you forget you’re literally minutes from one of the busiest transit hubs in Seoul.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to create this peaceful bubble while being so incredibly close to all the action. You can literally roll out of bed, grab your luggage, and be at Seoul Station in about three minutes (I timed it), which is absolutely perfect if you’re catching the KTX to Busan or heading to Incheon Airport. But here’s the thing – you’d never know you’re that close when you’re actually in the building. The soundproofing is surprisingly good, and honestly, I slept better there than at some fancy hotels I’ve stayed at in Gangnam. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe that feels very Korean but not in that trying-too-hard way some places do.

The staff really knows their stuff too – they’re the kind of people who’ll draw you a little map showing the fastest route to Myeongdong or tell you which exit to use at Seoul Station depending on where you’re headed. And with that 9.5 rating, they’re clearly doing something right. I actually met another traveler in the lobby who was on his third stay there, which says something. The whole place just feels… reliable, I guess? Like, you know exactly what you’re getting, and it’s going to be good. If you’re the type who values being able to hop on a train to anywhere in Korea within minutes, or if you’re doing that classic Seoul-Busan-Seoul trip that so many people do, this is honestly one of the smartest bases you could pick. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t feel like every other cookie-cutter hotel – it’s got personality without being quirky for the sake of it.
