HERTZ Hotel Overview

So I’ll be honest, when I first walked into the HERTZ Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – but you know what? Sometimes these mid-range spots really surprise you. The lobby has this kind of retro charm that feels intentional rather than outdated, with worn leather chairs that actually look comfortable instead of trying too hard to be Instagram-worthy. The front desk staff seemed genuinely pleased to see guests, which is rarer than it should be these days.

What really struck me about this place is how it feels like it knows exactly what it is. It’s not pretending to be some luxury resort, and it’s definitely not one of those soulless chain hotels where every room looks identical. The hallways have this slightly squeaky wooden flooring that somehow adds character rather than feeling cheap, and honestly, the whole place has this lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual history. The rooms are clean and functional – I mean, you’re not going to find marble countertops or rainfall showers, but the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the AC worked perfectly (which, let’s be real, is half the battle). The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with decent water pressure and those little toiletries that don’t smell like industrial cleaning supplies.

I actually ended up chatting with a couple other guests in the small breakfast area, and it turns out quite a few regulars come back here specifically because it feels more personal than the bigger hotels in the area. The morning coffee was better than expected – not amazing, but definitely not that burnt-tasting stuff you sometimes get at these places. One thing I appreciated was how quiet it got at night; you could hear the occasional car passing by, but nothing that kept me awake. The parking situation was pretty straightforward too, which saved me the headache of circling blocks looking for a spot. Look, with a 7 out of 10 rating, you’re getting exactly what that suggests – solid, reliable, and comfortable without any major surprises (good or bad). If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your spot, but if you want somewhere clean and genuine where you can actually get a good night’s sleep without breaking the bank, HERTZ Hotel delivers on that promise.

Early hotels booking in Seoul requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary palaces, shopping districts, and Korean cultural attractions.

Reviews of HERTZ Hotel

  • Nikki from Canada (7/10)

Location! They also provided chargers in the room which is sooooo convenient and handy!

  • Arik from Indonesia (8/10)

The hotel is clean, small hotel/ Boutique hotel. I say in the 7th floor , with the balcony. The location is best close to subway Jongo 3 exit 5. There are many restoran behind of hotel, a lot of street food in the night in front of hotel. I rated 9/10

  • Rosieabbott from United Kingdom (7/10)

The bed was incredibly comfortable, the room was a good size and the location was good. Across the toad from the subway station and within walking distance of Myeongdong. The area outside the hotel comes alive at night but it's still nice and quiet and dark in your room.

  • Andrea from Australia (7/10)

Excellent Location – The hotel was close to walking distance to Insadong Culture Street and many street food, restaurants that stay open til late, strip malls. It is also close by to Myeondong, Gyeongbokgung Palace, N Seoul Tower.

The room is reasonably clean – housekeeping done everyday.

Shampoo, Conditioner and body wash provided smelt good and made my hair nice.

Overall the place was good for us to sleep in – After all we were spending our days out and about.

    The staff are very friendly.

  • Young from South Korea (6/10)

    I never had any breakfast.

  • Barbora from Czech Republic (6/10)

The location is fantastic! It’s just a few meters from the subway, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The area is lively, filled with restaurants and entertainment options, perfect for those looking to enjoy the nightlife. My room was quite nice; I appreciated the spaciousness and the mirrors, which added a nice touch. The room was also clean and quiet, even with the busy street outside.

  • Mina from Turkey (6/10)

    the location

  • Cherise from United Kingdom (8/10)

Very comfy beds and enough pillows. Fantastic shower with amenities provided which was handy. WiFi connection was very good.
    Microwave in lobby.
The location of the property is ideal and close to the hustle and bustle in the evening! There is a station right outside the property which is useful. I would recommend arriving via line 1 from Seoul station exit 1 or line 5 exit 4, as there are less stairs with cases but is a slightly longer walk.

  • Marysia from Australia (6/10)

    Great location, comfortable beds

  • Vladislav from United Kingdom (8/10)

Perfect location with a lot of authentic food places around. Also many Seoul landmarks are reachable on foot. The hotel is clean and well organized.
