Tucked away on a quiet side street in Seodaemun-gu, Stay cozy lives up to its name from the moment you walk through the door. This three-star guesthouse occupies the second and third floors of a modest building, and honestly, that’s part of its charm — it feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel. The entrance might seem unassuming, but once you’re inside, there’s this warm, homey atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.

Location & Neighborhood

The location is actually brilliant, especially if you want to experience Seoul like a local rather than just hitting the major tourist spots. You’re in a residential area that’s surprisingly well-connected — Dongnimmun Station is just a short walk away, which puts you on Line 3 and gets you to Myeongdong or Hongdae without much hassle. What I really appreciated was how quiet the street gets at night, which is rare for Seoul. There are convenience stores within a minute’s walk, and you know what? The little Korean BBQ restaurant around the corner serves some of the best galbi I had during my entire trip.

The Room

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — every inch of space actually serves a purpose. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and they’ve managed to fit in a small desk area that’s perfect for planning your next day’s adventures. The bathroom is tiny, sure, but it’s clean and modern with good water pressure.
