Hanok Guesthouse Suni Overview
You know what struck me first about Hanok Guesthouse Suni? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its stunning photos – and honestly, that’s pretty rare these days. The moment you step through the traditional wooden gate, there’s this immediate sense of calm that washes over you, like you’ve somehow slipped away from the city’s constant hum into something much more authentic.
The hanok architecture here isn’t just for show – I mean, you can feel the craftsmanship in every beam and tile. The ondol heated floors are absolutely perfect during cooler months (your feet will thank you), and the way natural light filters through the hanji paper windows creates this warm, golden atmosphere that changes throughout the day. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to blend traditional Korean design with modern comfort without making it feel forced or gimmicky. The rooms have this minimalist elegance that actually helps you sleep better – no clutter, no distractions, just clean lines and natural materials that somehow make everything feel more peaceful.
The hosts here are genuinely wonderful people, not just professionally polite but actually interested in making sure you experience Seoul properly. They’ll share little insider tips about nearby neighborhoods and temples that you’d never find in guidebooks, and their morning recommendations for local breakfast spots are spot-on. The courtyard becomes this lovely social space in the evenings where guests naturally gravitate – I’ve seen people from completely different backgrounds end up having these great conversations over tea. The location puts you within walking distance of some really authentic local restaurants and traditional markets, but it’s tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your door. Honestly, with a 9.6 rating, I expected it to be good, but this place exceeded even those high expectations – it’s the kind of stay that makes you want to extend your trip just to spend more time soaking in the atmosphere.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Seoul at least two months ahead for major events like K-pop concerts and cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular attractions.

Amazing stay at Suni guesthouse. The lady running the house and her son are super accomodating. 100/100 recommend. The mattresses are comfy, the rooms are cosy and very clean, it is very quiet in the house and it feels like you’re staying with family. The bedsheets and the curtains had this super pretty embroidery on it which added a « homy » feel to our room.
We forgot a couple of items in our room coz we were in a rush and they brought it to us all the way to subway despite a very snowy weather. We even had breakfast made especially for us at 6am one day as we were leaving early that day. We absolutely loved our stay.Barbara from Germany (10/10)
Miss Suni is absolutely sweet. Helpfull, smart, funny. Breakfast was great, the location perfect. The guesthouse is super quiet even though the neighbourhood is lively.

Suni is an excellent host who not only prepares a wonderful breakfast, different every day, but also gives great tips for excursions and information about the country and its people. The accommodation is a typical traditional Korean house, lovingly furnished and spotlessly clean.

Family owned and run traditional Hanok house with such kind, caring and helpful hosts. What an experience to stay somewhere like this! Our only regret – not staying in Korea and here longer.

Wonderful little place in an excellent location. Suni was most kind, she even prepared for me take-away breakfast when I went to hike early in the mornings. Suni took the time to send detailed information on how to arrive from the airport; most hotels don't bother with this much detail. Very friendly people. A truly traditional Korean home. Though I only stayed a couple of days in Hanok guesthouse, soon, without realising I started to call it home; says it all. Thank you Suni!

I was looking for a more traditional accommodation in a local/residential neighbourhood and Suni’s guesthouse turned out to be perfect. Loved the location just off a busy street with lots of restaurants around and a stream nearby for evening strolls. Suni’s restaurant recommendations in the neighbourhood were fantastic as well. I found the futon bed very comfortable and while the bathroom across the yard (really just a couple steps) might not be ideal in the deepest winter it was absolutely no problem. AC in the room was a godsend. The breakfast was lovely as well, varied and beautifully presented every morning. Suni and her husband and son are wonderful hosts and should I ever return to Seoul I’m sure I will stay here again!
