Ohmy Inn Dongdaemun
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Ohmy Inn Dongdaemun when I first walked up β the name alone made me think it might be some gimmicky place trying too hard to be quirky. But honestly, this little 3-star spot completely won me over, and I get why it’s sitting at an 8 rating from other travelers.
The location is what really sets this place apart, and I mean that in the most practical way possible. You’re right in the heart of Seoul‘s shopping madness, but somehow the hotel manages to feel like a quiet refuge once you step inside. The lobby has this surprisingly cozy vibe β not fancy, but clean and welcoming with staff who actually seem happy to help rather than just going through the motions. I checked in around 2 PM on a Tuesday and the whole process was smooth, no hassles about early arrival or anything like that. The rooms are compact (this is Seoul, after all), but they’ve made smart use of every inch. The bed was actually comfortable β you know how some budget places skimp on mattresses, but this one was solid. What I really appreciated were the little touches: good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually work, and outlets positioned where you can actually reach them from the bed.
Here’s the thing about staying in Dongdaemun β it gets crazy busy during shopping hours, but if you’re an early riser like me, walking around the neighborhood at 7 AM is almost magical. The morning light hits those modern shopping complexes in this gorgeous way, and you can grab incredible street food from vendors who are just setting up. The hotel staff clued me in on a few local spots that weren’t packed with tourists, including this tiny restaurant about three blocks away that serves the best kimchi jjigae I had during my entire trip. I also loved that you could walk to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park in about five minutes β perfect for an evening stroll when the shopping crowds thin out. One small thing to note: the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs. It’s not terrible, but you might hear some hallway chatter in the evenings. The trade-off is totally worth it though β you’re paying way less than you would for similar quality in Gangnam or Myeongdong, and you’re still connected to everything via subway. Actually, the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park station is practically at your doorstep, which means you can be in Hongdae or Itaewon in 20 minutes without breaking a sweat.
Hotels near me in Seoul offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Myeongdong shopping district, and authentic Korean BBQ restaurants.

Guest Reviews
We had an early arrival and got accomodated early. Room was nice, with spacious bathroom. We had small carry-on bags so room space was not an issue for us.
The property location is spot on.
Amenities were meant , there were free water and toothbrush . Owner quickly respond to my request (to stay on a lower ground ) , thanks for that . Unavoidable circumstances happened and the owner helps us quickly . He/she makes us sure that the problems were solved before checking out . Thank you π
The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, so it's easy to get around. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so we enjoyed even if we arrive late at night.
Very cheap and located very close to a subway station giving easy access to other areas of seoul
The owner is very nice and accommodating and the rooms are equipped with anything you need and cleaned whenever you request it. All in all, everything was alright during our stay and the location was great.
Staff was around in the morning. I lost my T card and it was place on the reception counter. Thanks π
Good price, good location, clean. The bathroom was reasonably sized.
Great property even for a long term stay. We stayed 1.5 weeks. The rooms are small but great for backpackers. Beds are tight for 2 people, but smaller and short people fit just fine. Location is perfect, near many shops and convenience stores and super close to subways and buses. Cleaning staff does a great job and itβs very clean. For the price itβs more than worth it.
Close to two subway stations and places to eat . Staffs are really nice. Small but clean and has everything needed
