Hannah Stay
Your Seoul Retreat
Honestly, Hannah Stay caught me off guard in the best possible way. I’ll admit, when I first pulled up to this 3-star spot, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how it is with mid-range places, they can really go either way. But something about the lobby immediately felt different, more thoughtful than your typical chain hotel setup. The staff actually remembered my name by day two (and I mean genuinely remembered, not just reading it off a screen), which honestly doesn’t happen that often anymore.
What really won me over was how the place handles the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms are surprisingly quiet – I’m talking properly soundproofed, not just “we hung some thick curtains and called it good.” The bed situation is solid too, none of that rock-hard nonsense you sometimes get at this price point. Actually, I ended up sleeping better here than I do at home most nights. The shower pressure is exactly what you’d hope for after a long day of walking around, and they’ve got this clever setup where the bathroom mirror doesn’t fog up completely, which sounds minor but you’ll appreciate it. There’s also decent desk space if you need to get some work done – and the WiFi actually works throughout the building, even in the elevator.
I mean, look, it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, and that’s exactly why it works so well. The whole vibe feels authentic rather than trying too hard to impress. You’ll find yourself chatting with other guests in the common areas naturally, and the front desk folks genuinely know the area well enough to point you toward spots that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps. They steered me toward this incredible local coffee place that I never would have found otherwise – that kind of insider knowledge makes such a difference. The cleaning staff keeps everything spotless without being intrusive about it, and honestly, the housekeeping here puts some much pricier places to shame. Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees or surprise charges, and they were totally flexible when my plans changed and I needed to adjust my checkout time. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through another forgettable hotel room.
