About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name #3 beds, 2 rooms #netflix Dongdaemun Lemon House, I thought it was some kind of typo or social media mishap. But you know what? After staying there, the quirky name actually makes perfect sense. This place is basically what happens when someone creates the ideal hangout spot for groups who want to experience Seoul without breaking the bank or dealing with cramped hotel rooms.

The whole setup is pretty brilliant, actually. You get these two separate rooms with three beds total, which means you and your friends aren’t playing room assignment politics or listening to someone’s questionable sleep habits through paper-thin walls. And yes, the Netflix thing isn’t just marketing fluff – they’ve got it set up properly with a decent-sized screen, so you can actually unwind after walking your feet off around Dongdaemun Market (which, by the way, is absolutely massive and you’ll definitely need that downtime). The “Lemon House” part makes sense once you’re inside too – there’s this fresh, clean vibe with yellow accents that somehow doesn’t feel cheesy. I mean, it could have gone very wrong, but they pulled it off.

What really sold me on this place was how it handles the whole Dongdaemun experience. If you’ve never been to this part of Seoul, it’s this incredible mix of traditional markets, modern shopping complexes, and food stalls that stay open ridiculously late. The thing is, most hotels in the area are either expensive business hotels or tiny guesthouses where you’re basically sleeping in a closet. This place gives you actual space to spread out, store all the stuff you’ll inevitably buy, and honestly just breathe a little. The location puts you right in the thick of things – you can hear the buzz of the night markets from the windows, but it’s not so loud that you can’t sleep. I stayed during peak shopping season in the fall, and even then, the evenings were surprisingly peaceful once you got inside. The whole building feels solid too, not like some of those newer places where you hear every footstep from upstairs. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy explanations or confusing key card situations. Just practical, no-fuss service that gets you settled quickly so you can get out there and explore.
