The guy at the front desk (I think his name was Marco?) remembered my coffee preference by day two, which honestly never happens anywhere. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that you just don’t get at those sterile chain hotels. Sure, the bathroom could use a small update, but everything works perfectly, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels real rather than Instagram-perfect. The beds are surprisingly comfortable too – I’m pretty picky about mattresses, and I slept like a rock every night.

Here’s the thing though – DAMSO House has somehow managed to earn a perfect 10 rating, and after spending time there, I actually get it. It’s not about having the fanciest lobby or the most amenities (though the little courtyard area is lovely for morning coffee). It’s about those small touches that show someone’s paying attention. Fresh flowers in the common areas that actually get changed regularly, towels that smell like they’ve been line-dried, and this amazing quiet that settles over the place in the evenings. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period, but you’d never know it – no hallway noise, no slamming doors at 2 AM. The whole place just has this calm energy that makes you want to slow down and actually relax. If you’re someone who appreciates authenticity over flash, and you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual character rather than just passing through another generic hotel room, this place will surprise you. Just don’t expect a huge fitness center or room service – that’s not what DAMSO House is about, and frankly, that’s exactly why it works so well.
