Complace D
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Complace D feels like discovering a well-kept secret in Seoul’s bustling Mapo-gu district. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy — instead, it nails the basics with a quiet confidence that immediately puts you at ease. The lobby has this clean, minimalist vibe that’s distinctly Korean, and honestly, after a long flight, that understated elegance is exactly what you want to see.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what really sold me on this place? The location on Yanghwa-ro 23-gil puts you right in the heart of Mapo-gu, which locals will tell you is one of Seoul’s most livable neighborhoods. I mean, you’re close enough to Hongdae’s nightlife that you can walk there in about ten minutes, but far enough away that you actually get some sleep at night. The area has this perfect mix of traditional Korean eateries and trendy cafés — I found myself grabbing coffee from the same corner shop every morning because the owner remembered my order after day two.
The Room
The room itself is compact but thoughtfully designed, which is pretty much what you’d expect from Korean hospitality. Everything has its place, and there’s this attention to detail that makes the space feel larger than it actually is. The bed was surprisingly comfortable — I’m talking proper sleep, not that tossing-and-turning you sometimes get in budget accommodations. What I really appreciated was the modern bathroom setup; the shower pressure was excellent, and they’d clearly invested in quality fixtures that feel more upscale than the star rating might suggest.
Daily Life at the Hotel
The staff here operates with that efficient Korean hospitality style — they’re not overly chatty, but they anticipate what you need before you ask for it. I noticed they keep the common areas spotless throughout the day, and there’s always someone at the front desk who speaks solid English. The building itself is newer, so you don’t deal with those quirky elevator issues or temperamental air conditioning that can plague older Seoul properties. Actually, the whole place runs like clockwork, which matters more than you might think when you’re dealing with jet lag.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Complace D — it’s earned that 8.4 rating because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the fact that you can explore different parts of Seoul easily from here. The Mapo-gu location means you’re well-connected to both the Han River area and the more traditional neighborhoods, so you’re not stuck in just one corner of the city. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually choose, not just another tourist hotel that happens to be in Korea.

Guest Reviews
We got a different option to what we booked. Instead of one apartment with 3 bedrooms, we got two separate apartments beside each other. They were both lovely. Clean and easy to find.
It was our second time in Seoul and we were so happy to have found a good location this time. A lot of cafes and restaurants around it.
Excellent location. There's lots of restaurant and cafe nearby, very close to the metro station.
-Cleanliness , very clean
-Location is very good - within 5 mins from hongik university station . You can take the airport rail from Incheon and straight to hongik ( exit 3 )and you do not need to change the train
- food was around us , very convenient , there’s 2-3 convenient store
-Bed was comfortable
-Design of the property was very cozy and warm
- heating for shower is good
- the shampoo and conditioner was really good
- hairdryer was good n dried our hair nicely
- no place to store your luggage , but owner was kind to allow us to put it outside of the rooms first .
Good place if you wanna hang around Heongdae for a few nights with friends. Everything is close by, restaurants, bars, GS25. Parking is really hard to find (and pricey), so plan accordingly. The apartment was clean, very well equipped, the owner's response to my messages was fast, and the instructions were clear. Rooms are cozy and clean. Each room has AC, except for the bathroom, here's a window with a curtain. We were booking an apartment for 5 people, so we had to take stairs. Mind that if your movement is restricted - there's no elevator and the room is not wheelchair accessible. The apartment is in this dead-end street with one small restaurant that seems sketchy during the night, but we had no issues. Close to Hongik University Station.
Good location , near station and central
It’s spacious and clean. The inferior design was nice and the beds are so comfortable. It’s silent at night and I sleep so well.
The location was excellent with easy access to Hongdae. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our host very helpful with questions we had about local restaurants.
The rooms is very nice. Location is good near convenience shop, restaurant and craft beer.
房東很親切,有問題都能幫忙協助,地理位置好,雖然在小巷裡,但離地鐵很近
