Cheongryangri Zebra Cinema & Rooftop

The whole place has this quirky film vibe that actually works without being cheesy about it. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Seoul after all – but they’ve got character. Think clean lines with subtle movie poster touches and lighting that doesn’t make you look terrible in photos (trust me, I checked). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being in Cheongryangri, which can get pretty bustling during the day. The soundproofing is solid, probably because they know what they’re doing with the whole cinema angle. The beds are comfortable too – not too soft, not too firm, just that sweet spot where you actually sleep well instead of tossing around all night.

But honestly, the rooftop is where this place really shines. I spent way more time up there than I planned, especially in the evenings when the city lights start coming on. You get these great views of the surrounding neighborhoods, and it’s got this laid-back atmosphere where you can actually hear yourself think. They’ve set it up with decent seating areas, and while it’s not a full bar situation, there’s enough going on to make it worth hanging out. I noticed other guests doing the same thing – people would head up there with their phones or books and just… stay. That’s usually a good sign. The staff seems to get that the rooftop is a big draw too, so they keep it well-maintained and actually welcoming instead of treating it like an afterthought. During my stay, I met a couple of other travelers up there, and we ended up chatting about Seoul recommendations – that kind of natural interaction you can’t really plan for but makes a trip memorable. For a three-star place, they’re definitely punching above their weight, especially considering the area and what you’re paying.
