Zaza Backpackers hostel
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Zaza Backpackers hostel, you immediately get that “this place gets it” feeling. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a well-run three-star hostel that actually cares about the details. The lobby has this relaxed vibe where you can tell other travelers are genuinely happy to be there, and honestly, that says everything you need to know about a place.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Jung-gu — you’re basically in the heart of everything that matters in Seoul. I mean, couples are rating this location 9.4 out of 10, which tells you something. You can walk to Myeongdong for shopping and street food, hit up Dongdaemun for late-night market adventures, or just wander the traditional neighborhoods nearby. The subway connections are solid too, so even when you want to venture further out to Gangnam or Hongdae, it’s actually pretty straightforward.
The Hostel Experience
What I really appreciate about Zaza Backpackers hostel is how they’ve managed to create spaces that work for different types of travelers. The common areas don’t feel cramped or overly institutional — there’s room to spread out with your laptop or just chat with other guests without feeling like you’re in everyone’s way. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood well, and you know what, they’re not just giving you the standard tourist recommendations either. They’ll point you toward hidden gems and local spots that most visitors completely miss.
Practical Comforts
The rooms are clean and functional without being fancy, which is exactly what you want at this price point. Storage is well thought out, and the beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in hostels, let’s be honest). The bathrooms stay clean throughout the day, which can be a real challenge in busy places like this. Wi-fi works consistently, and there are enough power outlets that you’re not fighting other guests to charge your devices. A small kitchenette is available for guests who want to prepare their own meals.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests keep highlighting that 9.5 location rating, and after staying here, I totally understand why. It’s not just about being central — though that helps — it’s about being in a part of Seoul where you can actually experience the city’s rhythm. You’ll find yourself walking back from dinner through these atmospheric side streets, passing local restaurants and tiny shops that you’d never discover if you were staying in some generic hotel district. The combination of smart location choice and solid hostel fundamentals makes this place work really well for travelers who want to dive into Seoul without breaking the bank. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a group of friends, or backpackers on a tight budget, Zaza Backpackers hostel delivers genuine hospitality and authentic Seoul access.
Hotel in Seoul booking should be done early, especially during autumn foliage season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and festivals.

Guest Reviews
We like everything!!!!
Thank you!
Hoping to stay there again in the future ;)
The host was really lovely and thoughtful. The facilities were excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and lounge, We had a useful washing machine and an extra microwave in the bedroom. Our double bed was very comfortable, although the single bed was on the firm side. Its location was amazing, very close to major tourist spots, tubes and buses, and right next to Myeongdong centre
I had a pleasant stay at Zaza. The host was incredibly attentive, assisting me with my bags up to the fourth floor and mid-stay, checking if I needed my room cleaned. Upon departure, he helped me carry my heavy bags down the stairs, showing remarkable attentiveness throughout my stay. The facilities were clean and basic, fitting perfectly for a budget-friendly option. The location is fantastic, close to the metro and the vibrant Myeongdong night market. If you’re on a budget, this is a great choice.
Great location, coffee, tea and iron in the common space is a nice asset.
Close to bus and train stations, easy access pretty much to all the tourist spots in Seoul. Few minutes walk to Myeondong street good market’.
Staff are very kind , room was available early so they put us check in early. Very clean
Strategic location. The staff really helpful.

The location is so good, it is so convenient to go everywhere !
The hostel is very well located. Only 2 minutes to the Myeongdong metro station and right next to a 7eleven as well as several restaurants and bars. The common area in the basement is very nice, makes it easy to have meals at the hostel if needed! And the rooftop terrace is lovely, the view was amazing at night! The owner was very nice and helpful when we met him, and they are very responsive on WhatsApp for any questions you might have 😊
- Location is just a couple of minutes walk to Myeongdong station. Plenty of cafeterias, restaurants etc around. There’s also a 7-11 right in front.
- Sparkling clean
- Nice rooftop to enjoy a drink with a view
- Staff is very nice and laidback
- There’s a washing machine and a microwave in the room
