Hongik univ station Exit 1
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard the name Hongik univ station Exit 1, I thought it was some kind of quirky translation thing. But you know what? It’s actually perfect because that’s exactly what this place is, and more importantly, it tells you everything you need to know about where you’ll be staying. You’re literally steps away from Hongik University Station, which means you’re right in the heart of one of Seoul‘s most vibrant neighborhoods.
The thing about staying near Hongdae (that’s what locals call the Hongik University area) is that you’re basically camping out in Seoul’s unofficial party central, but this little 3-star spot manages to give you that without the chaos bleeding into your room. I mean, sure, you’ll hear some street noise – it’s Seoul, after all – but honestly, it’s more like a gentle urban hum than anything disruptive. The rating of 8.8 makes total sense once you’ve been there because while it’s not trying to be fancy, it absolutely nails the basics. Clean rooms, decent wifi (crucial if you’re working remotely like I was), and – this is key – the staff actually seems to care about making your stay work.
What I really appreciated was how this place gets that most travelers staying here aren’t looking for marble lobbies and concierge services. You’re here because you want to be where the action is, whether that’s the indie music venues tucked into basement spaces, the street food that’ll change your life (seriously, the hotteok vendor about two blocks over is incredible), or those late-night coffee shops that somehow make perfect sense in Korean culture. The hotel’s location means you can stumble back after exploring Hongdae’s legendary nightlife, but you can also easily hop on the subway to hit up other parts of the city. Actually, that’s probably the biggest selling point – you’re connected to everything, but you’re staying in a neighborhood that has its own legitimate personality. During the day, it’s got this artsy, student vibe with galleries and quirky shops, then it completely transforms after dark. The hotel sits right in that sweet spot where you can experience both sides without feeling like a tourist who’s just passing through.

Vey nice place, very good destination, will visit it again.
It was located right at the exit of hongik station. Very clean. Room was a good size, had a kitchen and a dining table. Nice views from our room which was up on the 8th floor. It was close to shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend it.
Location, self check-in, clear instruction, easy place to find and get to, received message early for check-in before time.
Our room had a great view of the city. It was clean, comfortable, and was in an excellent location. Perfect size for a family of 4.
The location was great and easily accessible to many areas and eateries. The host has been responsive and allowed us for early check in which helped alot. And the apartment was clean
It was an amazing place, very close to the train station which genuinely helps after a long day of walking around. The room was clean, well organised, and had all the basic necessities.
The room was very spacious and we could comfortably fit 5 suitcases (which in most places usually isn't the case).
The owner was really kind and understanding!
