Wecostay Myeongdong
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what struck me first about Wecostay Myeongdong? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top amenities, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need. I mean, with a 9.1 rating, they’re clearly doing something right – and honestly, after staying there, I get it completely.
The thing about this place is how it fits into the whole Myeongdong scene so naturally. You’re literally in the heart of everything that makes this district buzz – I’m talking about being able to roll out of bed and grab those famous hotteoks from street vendors before most tourists even figure out where they are. The location is ridiculous in the best way possible. You’ve got Myeongdong Cathedral just a short walk away (great for some quiet time when the shopping crowds get overwhelming), and honestly, you’re close enough to Namdaemun Market that you could walk there if you wanted to venture beyond the main tourist strips. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this tiny alley with the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had, somewhere I never would’ve found on my own.
The rooms themselves are what I’d call smart without being fancy. Everything works properly (which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given), the beds are actually comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out your shopping hauls – because let’s be real, if you’re staying in Myeongdong, you’re going to be buying things. The bathrooms are clean and well-designed, though they’re compact in that efficient Korean way. I actually liked how quiet it was considering you’re smack in the middle of one of Seoul‘s busiest areas – apparently they put some real thought into soundproofing. Check-in was smooth too, no weird complications or surprise fees that sometimes pop up at smaller places. The whole experience felt like staying somewhere that’s been figured out over time, you know? Like they’ve worked out the kinks and know what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight, and that rating makes perfect sense once you’re there.

The stuff and the room design
Cozy, spotless clean & spacious room with full of amenities. Comfortable bed. Location is just 5 mins walk to Chungmuro station & airport limo bus. Recycling the trash is also easy with clear instructions.
Very close to Chungmuro station and airport limos bus
Location was 8/10, view of my room was so-so, and it was a station away from Myeongdong through the Line 4 although there is a bus stop which is a 2-minute walk away from the property. The room was FANTASTIC. I loved the washing machine the most because I could easily wash my clothes in the desert-hot Seoul summer everyday. The bed was so soft and cozy and the TV had many channels and Netflix as well. CR is very nice and there are tons of storage space. I could even cook inside the room because of the provided cooking materials. 11/10 overall I would say. Stayed here for 7 nights and it was a bit pricey for me, but the price is justified with its facilities.
Location, room amenities, cleanliness, ease of check-in.
Convenience of contact less check-in, room was well appointed and clean. Location was great, quiet street, but close to subway and bus stop.
5 min walk to the metro
Nearby the bus stop going to the airport
There’s a clothes rack
The building and apartments seem new and very well maintained. Furnishings are spare but comfortable. Lots of storage space! Easy to check in and to talk to someone in the office.
We appreciated that they made it easy to recycle.
location is very accessible to transportation , be it by bus or by train
