I mean, when you see a 3-star property advertising itself as “cozy” and mentioning transportation right in the title, you sort of brace yourself for disappointment – but honestly, this little gem surprised me.

The moment I walked in, there was this immediate sense of… well, home, I guess. The lobby (if you can even call it that) feels more like someone’s really well-decorated living room, with these worn leather chairs that you actually want to sink into and read a book. The staff – and I think there might only be three or four of them total – treat you like you’re staying at their actual house. There’s this one woman at the front desk who remembers everyone’s coffee preferences by day two, which sounds cheesy but actually made my mornings so much better. The rooms themselves are compact but thoughtfully laid out, with these thick curtains that block out street noise completely (trust me, I’m a light sleeper and I slept like a baby). The Wi-Fi is solid throughout the building, and they’ve got these little touches everywhere – good bedside lighting, enough outlets where you need them, towels that are actually soft.

But here’s the thing that really sets this place apart: the transportation connections are genuinely excellent. I’m talking about being able to walk two minutes and hit three different bus lines, plus there’s a metro stop that’s maybe five minutes on foot. The owner – or maybe the manager, I never quite figured out which – actually sat down with me on my first day and mapped out the best routes to get around, including some local shortcuts I never would have found on my own. Parking is surprisingly easy too, which is rare for places in this price range. They’ve got a small lot behind the building that’s free for guests, and even when that fills up, there’s decent street parking that won’t cost you a fortune. I ended up extending my stay by two nights because, honestly, it just felt comfortable in a way that bigger hotels rarely manage. The rating shows a perfect 10, and while I’m usually skeptical of those kinds of scores, I get it – sometimes a place just nails exactly what it’s trying to be without pretending to be something fancier.
