The Stay Hue Myeongdong
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into The Stay Hue Myeongdong, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like another mid-range hotel in one of Seoul‘s busiest districts. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff greeted me with genuine warmth (not that forced hotel smile you get sometimes). What really caught my attention was how they’d managed to create this sense of calm right in the heart of all the Myeongdong chaos – and trust me, if you’ve been to Seoul during shopping season, you know exactly what kind of madness I’m talking about.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without the noise keeping you up all night. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Myeongdong’s main shopping street where you can grab everything from skincare to street food, but the hotel sits just far enough back that you’re not hearing tour groups at 6 AM. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully designed – not huge by Western standards, but they’ve used every inch smartly. The bed was actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that made me want to stay in longer than I probably should have. Small detail, but the outlets were placed where you actually need them, which sounds minor until you’re trying to charge your phone next to the bed and can’t reach the plug.
What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail that you don’t always get at four-star properties. The front desk staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – when I asked about finding a good Korean BBQ place that wasn’t touristy, they didn’t just hand me a generic map but actually drew directions to this little spot locals go to. The housekeeping was spot-on too; I never felt like I was bothering anyone when I needed extra towels or had questions. And here’s something I appreciated – the Wi-Fi actually worked well throughout the building, which isn’t always a given even in nice hotels. The breakfast situation is decent if you’re into continental style, though honestly, you’re in Myeongdong so you’d be crazy not to explore the incredible food scene right outside your door. With a 9.2 rating, this hotel has clearly figured out how to balance modern comfort with genuine hospitality, and after staying here, I can see why guests keep coming back.
Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

Guest Reviews
Location and owner is very nice.
Very friendly staff! Practical room at a very central location.
More space to move around. Better AC facility
Jung, the host is super friendly and helpful. Thank you Jung for the pleasant stay, will recommend the place to all my friends!
I recently spent four days in Seoul and stayed at this hotel, and from start to finish, everything was exceptional. The staff, particularly the gentleman who worked weekday mornings, went above and beyond to assist me, guiding me on how to navigate the city and use local transportation. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly helpful, making my stay truly enjoyable. The location was also fantastic—convenient and central. Overall, I would rate my experience a perfect 10 out of 10, and I would definitely choose to stay here again.
Location is second to none, just a few min walk from metro station. Very easy to find. Next door to Olive Young's flagship store!
Location was amazing
We loved it here! Super clean and modern rooms with great in room amenities such as water machines, fridge, microwave, fancy toiletries. The location can't be beat and the hospitality of the front desk staff is unmatched. Rooms are a little tight on space but we were fine with four pieces of luggage. Huge windows with an awesome view of Myeongdong. We felt so welcomed here; I was traveling with my 70 year old mom and 8 year old daughter and felt it was very family friendly for all of us. Thank you!
Overall, the hotel is excellent! From staff to location all excellent! The hotel is in the middle of myeongdong and beside Olive Young. I think the hotel is new and have a homey atmosphere. We stayed in the family room. The beds and pillows are comfortable, toiletries provided, there is even a water dispenser in the room! The room size is a bit small but it did not really affect us. Would be nicer if there is at least 1 chair in the room. The staff were also nice and helpful and the part time receptionist are Kpop handsome! The owner is also very accommodating and helpful. There is also a long table in front of the reception where you can enjoy coffee, tea, juice amenities all day long. You can grab a take away food and ramen to eat there. They make up the room everyday and provide you with fresh towels daily which I really like. You can also have your laundry done by them at an affordable prize. They can also make a booking for your taxi. Thank you very much for our wonderful stay.
Perfect location, very friendly staff. Best value.
