The Prima Hotel Jongno Overview
You know what caught me off guard about The Prima Hotel Jongno? Walking in, I honestly expected just another mid-range place in the thick of Seoul‘s historic district – but this little gem actually gets the balance right between being right in the action and still feeling like a proper retreat after long days exploring.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re smack in the middle of Seoul’s old quarter where the energy never really dies down, but somehow the hotel manages to feel insulated from all that chaos once you step inside. I mean, you can literally walk to Insadong’s tea houses and galleries in about five minutes, and the subway connections are ridiculous – Jongno 3-ga station is practically next door. The staff here really knows their stuff too, which you don’t always get at three-star places. They had restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the usual tourist traps, and honestly, their English was better than my Korean (which isn’t saying much, but still). Check-in was smooth, no weird surprises with the room when I got upstairs.
What really sold me on this place was how it felt authentic without trying too hard. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Seoul, after all – but they’re thoughtfully designed with these clean lines and warm wood touches that actually feel Korean rather than generic international hotel. The beds are properly comfortable, and I slept well despite being on a busy street. You can hear some city noise if you’re a really light sleeper, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than anything jarring. The bathrooms are compact but well-equipped, with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has decent pressure. Little things like having a proper desk space and outlets where you need them show they understand what travelers actually want. I stayed here during cherry blossom season when everything in the area was packed, but the hotel never felt crowded or chaotic. That 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers – you can feel why guests keep coming back. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because it just works, you know?
Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

Perfect location and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend staying here if you want a nice hotel that won’t break the bank. It isn’t luxurious, but it’s clean, comfortable and in an excellent location.
Leonid from Canada (10/10)
The location is fantastic. The hotel is very close to many attrations and at the same time somewhat quiet.
As a plus, the hotel has coin laundry, which helps travel light.
The staff was amazing as well.Erdinc from Singapore (9/10)
I would highly recommend the location, right next to Insadong shopping street, restaurants, bars, bakeries etc. and also in walking distance to the two famous palaces and Jogyesa temple that are among the main attractions. Getting from the airport was easy and affordable with bus #6002, but you can also take #6011. Google Maps shows you these options and works well in Seoul. I would imagine it would be pretty costly by taxi as it was around 1.5 hour journey each way. The rooms are basic but clean with comfortable beds and we also got a quiet corner room on the top floor, so no complaints there.
