The Cozy Nonhyeon, Gangnam Eonju station 5 min by walk, Warm and Fresh, 2 bedrooms, Close to restaurants of the Netflix Culinary Class show
Your Seoul Retreat
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first saw the name The Cozy Nonhyeon, Gangnam Eonju station 5 min by walk, Warm and Fresh, 2 bedrooms, Close to restaurants of the Netflix Culinary Class show, I thought someone had a serious case of keyword overload. But you know what? They actually deliver on pretty much everything that ridiculously long name promises.
The location is genuinely solid – I timed the walk from Eonju station and it’s legitimately five minutes, maybe six if you’re dragging luggage. You’re right in the heart of Gangnam but on one of those quieter residential streets that locals actually prefer. The two-bedroom setup works perfectly if you’re traveling with family or friends who don’t want to be crammed into a typical hotel box. I mean, having a proper living space where you can spread out and actually relax? That’s worth something. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s functional – I managed to whip up breakfast without any drama, and there’s a decent-sized fridge if you want to stock up on those amazing Korean convenience store finds.
What really got me excited (and I’m sort of embarrassing myself here) was stumbling across some of those restaurants they mention from the Netflix show. I’m talking about places where you can actually eat the same dishes you watched being prepared on Culinary Class Wars – there’s this incredible Korean BBQ spot literally two blocks away that featured in episode four, and honestly, the galbi there lives up to the hype. The whole neighborhood has this fantastic food scene that feels authentic rather than touristy, probably because you’re staying where actual Seoul residents live and eat. The staff at the accommodation were surprisingly helpful with restaurant recommendations too – they pointed me toward this tiny pojangmacha (street food tent) that I never would have found otherwise.
Now, it’s not luxury by any stretch – the furnishings are clean and comfortable but pretty basic, and the Wi-Fi can get a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming. But there’s something genuinely cozy about the place (okay, maybe the name isn’t completely ridiculous). The beds are properly comfortable, the heating works well during Seoul’s brutal winter months, and you’ve got enough space to not feel like you’re living on top of each other. Plus, being this close to Eonju station means you’re connected to the rest of the city without dealing with the absolute chaos of staying right next to Gangnam station. Trust me on this – you’ll appreciate the slightly quieter nights while still being able to hit Hongdae or Myeongdong whenever you want. It’s basically the sweet spot between convenience and actually being able to sleep.
