Sweet House #2

You know what caught me off guard about Sweet House #2? The name honestly doesn’t do it justice – I was expecting something cutesy and over-the-top, but it’s actually this perfectly balanced 3-star place that just gets the fundamentals right. When I first walked into the lobby, there was this immediate sense of calm that you don’t always find in mid-range hotels. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there (which, let’s be honest, makes such a difference), and check-in was one of those smooth experiences where you’re not standing around wondering if they lost your reservation.

The rooms have this lived-in comfort that I really appreciate – not sterile like some chain hotels, but not trying too hard to be boutique either. My room had these thick curtains that actually blocked out light, which might sound like a small thing but trust me, when you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to sleep in, it matters. The beds are properly firm without being rock-hard, and the linens feel like they’ve been chosen by someone who actually sleeps in hotel beds regularly. I mean, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything feels intentional and comfortable. The bathroom was compact but well-thought-out – good water pressure, decent lighting for getting ready, and enough counter space for your toiletries without playing Tetris.

What really sells me on this place is how it performs on all those little things that can make or break a stay. The walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every conversation in the hallway, the air conditioning actually works quietly, and there’s proper workspace if you need to get some things done. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not flashy enough to be a 9, but it’s so consistently good at what it does that anything lower would be unfair. I’d definitely book here again, especially for those trips where you want a reliable, comfortable base without paying luxury prices. It’s the kind of place where you check in, settle into your room, and think “okay, this is going to work out just fine.”
