Sunshine Hotel

You know what? The Sunshine Hotel is one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you, and honestly, that’s exactly what I liked about it. When I first walked into the lobby, it had this comfortable, lived-in feeling – not fancy, but clean and welcoming in that authentic way that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real people actually go.

The 3-star rating is pretty spot-on, I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or turndown service, but the rooms are genuinely comfortable and well-maintained. My room had this great natural light that actually justified the “Sunshine” name, and the bed was one of those pleasant surprises – firm but not hard, good pillows that didn’t go flat by morning. The shower had decent water pressure (always a gamble at this price point), and there’s something refreshing about a place where the staff remembers your name after a day or two. The housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work – I noticed little touches like towels that were actually folded nicely, not just thrown on the rack.

What I really appreciated was how the hotel feels connected to its neighborhood rather than isolated from it. The front desk folks know the area well and gave me solid recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. Parking was easier than I expected – there’s a decent-sized lot that never seemed completely full, which is honestly worth mentioning since that can make or break a stay. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not perfect (the hallway carpet could use updating, and the elevator moves like it’s thinking about each floor), but it delivers on what matters most. I’d definitely stay here again, especially knowing what to expect – solid comfort without the inflated prices you get at flashier places that spend more on their lobby than their actual rooms.
