Hotel 8 Hours
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel 8 Hours, you immediately get the sense this three-star property knows exactly what it’s doing. The lobby is compact but thoughtfully designed β clean lines, warm lighting, and that distinctly Korean approach to maximizing space without making it feel cramped. I mean, the name itself tells you everything: this isn’t trying to be a grand palace, it’s about providing exactly what you need for a solid stay in Seoul. The staff greets you with genuine warmth, and honestly, their English is better than you’d expect for a hotel in this price range.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s where Hotel 8 Hours really shines β the location in Jung-gu is absolutely stellar. You’re literally steps away from Namdaemun Market, which means you can grab authentic Korean street food at any hour and shop for everything from traditional crafts to modern gadgets. Myeongdong is just a short walk away, and I actually prefer staying here rather than right in the thick of Myeongdong’s tourist chaos. The subway connections are fantastic too β you can reach most of Seoul’s major attractions within 20-30 minutes. What I love is that you’re in the heart of things but on a quieter side street, so you’re not dealing with constant noise.
The Room Experience
The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Korean hotel β efficient, spotless, and surprisingly comfortable. Don’t expect sprawling suites, but everything you need is there and it’s all quality stuff. The beds are firm (which I actually prefer), the bathroom is compact but modern with a good shower, and the air conditioning works perfectly β crucial during Seoul’s humid summers. There’s decent storage space, and the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable throughout the building. The windows offer glimpses of the bustling neighborhood below, which I found charming rather than disruptive.
Practical Perks
What sets this place apart are the thoughtful touches that show they understand travelers’ needs. The front desk operates 24/7, which is genuinely helpful when you’re dealing with jet lag or late arrivals. They’ll store your luggage before check-in and after checkout without any fuss. The elevator is small but efficient, and there’s always hot water β something you shouldn’t take for granted in older Seoul buildings. You know what impressed me most? The housekeeping is impeccable, and they restock amenities daily without being intrusive about it.
Why Guests Love It
Hotel 8 Hours delivers exactly what it promises β a clean, comfortable, well-located base for exploring Seoul without breaking the bank. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the intimate scale and prime location, which makes sense given how walkable everything is from here. It’s not trying to wow you with flashy amenities or over-the-top service, but rather provides solid fundamentals executed really well. For the price point and location, you’re getting excellent value, especially if you plan to spend most of your time out exploring the city rather than lounging in your room.
Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

Guest Reviews
Staff was friendly and spoke very good English. Very helpful and recommended things to do around Seoul.
Hotel was a 5 minute walk from the metro and many parts of the city were easily accessible. Around the hotel there were also many things to do and eat.
The location is great. Just few minutes walk from city hall metro. The bathroom is clean and spacious for that size of the room. The receptionist was very friendly.
Very near restaurants. You could walk from here to Myeongdong but around 15-20 minutes. It has good facilities and the beds are comfortable and the restroom and toiletries are excellent. Theres a covenience store nearby and a lot of local restaurants you can choose from. The male staff can understand english .
Location had good connectivity to subway and relatively close to myeongdong.
Location is perfect
Location is great..room kind of smaller than expected which means taking turns to open our suitcases so as not to get into each other's space. Rocky at reception is fantastic n cleaning team great. Loved to be able to access many eateries and the market and our enquiries for getting around responded positively always w smile π..kudos to Rocky.
