I mean, step outside and you’re immediately hit with the energy of Myeongdong – street food vendors calling out, groups of tourists clutching shopping bags, that constant hum of activity that makes this area so addictive. But somehow, once you’re inside StayC, there’s this unexpected sense of breathing room.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully compact – and honestly, that’s exactly what you want here. You’re not coming to Myeongdong to hang out in your hotel room anyway. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have those rainfall showerheads that actually work properly, not the weak trickle you sometimes get. What I really appreciated were the blackout curtains – they’re thick enough to block out the neon glow from the street signs below, which trust me, you’ll want when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag. The soundproofing is surprisingly good too, considering you’re basically sleeping above one of Seoul’s most tourist-heavy neighborhoods.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of town – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Myeongdong Cathedral, and you can stumble back from late-night Korean BBQ sessions without worrying about subway schedules or taxi rides. The hotel staff seems genuinely used to helping international guests figure out the neighborhood, which makes a difference when you’re trying to navigate the maze of underground shopping areas or find that specific cosmetics store everyone’s talking about. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived early afternoon, and they stored my luggage without any fuss. The 8.0 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches, but everything works well and the location is honestly unbeatable if you want to be in the heart of the action. I found myself using the hotel as a base camp of sorts, dropping off shopping bags throughout the day and recharging between exploring sessions. That’s really what makes this place work – it gets out of your way and lets Seoul be the star.

  Locatie is goed, 1 halte van Myeongdong. Fijn dat er een wasmachine beschikbaar is. Beneden zit er een convenience store. We konden eerder inchecken. Handig dat je met een pincode naar binnenkom. Er vertrekt een airport bus vlakbij het hotel. Kamer ziet er groter uit op de foto’s. Maar verblijf was prima voor 2 dagen.
