Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Stay Yeobaek,2BR,1BA – 2min to Hongdae, 5mins to Sangsu station, I thought it sounded more like a real estate listing than a place I’d actually want to stay. But you know what? Sometimes the most awkwardly named spots end up being exactly what you need, and this little apartment proved that point perfectly.

The location is genuinely fantastic if you’re trying to experience Seoul‘s nightlife without completely destroying your sleep schedule. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute stumble from all the chaos of Hongdae – the bars, the street food vendors selling those incredible hotteoks at 2 AM, the random dance battles that somehow always seem to be happening near the subway entrance. But here’s the thing that surprised me: despite being so close to all that madness, the apartment itself is tucked away just enough that you can actually get some rest when you need it. The walls do a decent job blocking out the street noise, though honestly, if you’re a super light sleeper, you might still catch some of the weekend revelry drifting through.

Having two bedrooms was clutch for my group – we could spread out without tripping over each other’s stuff, and the bathroom situation never became one of those awkward morning bottlenecks. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I actually prefer. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works, the WiFi is solid (crucial for those late-night Instagram posts from Hongdae), and there’s enough kitchen space to heat up convenience store finds or leftover Korean fried chicken. The walk to Sangsu station really is about five minutes, maybe seven if you’re dragging luggage, and that line connects you to pretty much everywhere you’d want to go in the city. Plus, Sangsu has become this cool little area in its own right – there are some great coffee shops and vintage stores along the way that you might miss if you were staying in the more touristy parts of town. With an 8.2 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most people, and I can see why. It’s one of those places that works because it doesn’t try too hard – just gives you a comfortable base in one of Seoul’s most vibrant neighborhoods without the premium price tag of the fancy hotels nearby.
