About this stay

Your Seoul Retreat

First Impressions

Walking into Stay sunshine in Seoul, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something special that most tourists miss. This four-star boutique property sits tucked away on a quiet side street in Jongno-gu, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The lobby has this clean, modern Korean aesthetic — not trying too hard to impress, but you can tell they’ve put thought into every detail.

The Jongno-gu Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in this neighborhood — you’re literally in the heart of historic Seoul, but without the chaos of Myeongdong or Hongdae. You can walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace in about ten minutes, and there’s this incredible maze of traditional hanok houses and modern cafes just around the corner. The subway connections are fantastic too, which means you’re never more than 20 minutes from anywhere you actually want to be. Couples seem to absolutely adore this spot (they’ve rated the location a perfect 10), and I get why — it feels intimate and authentic in a way that the bigger hotel districts just don’t.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed, which is pretty much what you’d expect from a well-run Seoul hotel. What surprised me was how quiet everything was, considering you’re still in the city center. The beds are comfortable, and they’ve got those little touches that show they understand international travelers — good WiFi, plenty of outlets, and blackout curtains that actually work. The bathrooms are modern and spotless, though don’t expect huge spaces if you’re coming from American hotels.

Hot Springs and Relaxation

Now here’s where Stay sunshine really sets itself apart — they’ve got hot spring baths and a jacuzzi that most guests don’t even know about until they arrive. After spending a day walking around Seoul’s hills (and trust me, there are more hills than you think), soaking in those hot springs feels like exactly what you didn’t know you needed. The water has this mineral quality that’s supposed to be good for your skin, and whether that’s true or not, it definitely helps with sore feet and jet lag.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back to this place isn’t just the location or the hot springs — it’s that they’ve managed to create something that feels both Korean and internationally comfortable. The staff actually seems to enjoy helping guests figure out the neighborhood, and they’ll point you toward little local spots that you’d never find on your own. You’re paying for a genuine Seoul experience here, not just a place to sleep between tourist attractions. The 8.6 guest rating makes sense when you experience how everything just works smoothly, from check-in to that final morning when you’re trying to figure out airport logistics.

Hotels near me in Seoul offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Myeongdong shopping district, and authentic Korean BBQ restaurants.
