Star Guest House
Your Seoul Retreat
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Star Guest House – you know how it is with 3-star places, they can really go either way. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best possible way. The moment you walk through the front doors, there’s this warm, lived-in feeling that makes you forget you’re staying at what’s technically a budget-friendly spot. The lobby has this cozy, almost residential vibe with mismatched furniture that somehow works perfectly together, and I swear the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests arrive (which, let’s be real, doesn’t happen everywhere).
What really won me over though was how the place feels authentic – like someone’s favorite uncle decided to open a guesthouse and actually cared about making people comfortable. The rooms aren’t huge, I mean, let’s be honest about what you’re getting for the price, but they’re thoughtfully put together with decent lighting (thank god, because nothing ruins a trip like trying to read under a 40-watt bulb) and surprisingly good water pressure in the showers. You know what really got me? They have these little touches that show someone’s paying attention – fresh towels that actually smell clean, not like industrial detergent, and windows that open properly if you want some fresh air instead of being stuck with whatever the AC is doing.
The common areas are where this place really shines though. There’s this lovely little breakfast nook where you can actually have a conversation without shouting over muzak, and they serve proper coffee – not that watery stuff you get at some places. I spent a good chunk of my mornings there just watching the neighborhood wake up through the windows. Look, it’s not going to win any luxury awards, and if you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, you’ll want to look elsewhere. But for travelers who appreciate good value and genuine hospitality over flashy amenities, Star Guest House delivers exactly what it promises. The 7.5 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a night there – it’s honest, comfortable, and run by people who seem to understand that sometimes the best travel experiences happen in the most unpretentious places.
To book a hotel in Seoul during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this dynamic capital draws visitors eager to experience its cutting-edge technology and rich traditional heritage.

Guest Reviews
Near the train station, close to convenience store and restaurants including shopping stores.
Accoms lady doesn't really speak english but she is really really nice! Room is small (m2 is accurate) but just nice, cozy even. Might have to move around certain furniture to accommodate space for big luggage. Size of toilet is decent. Extremely convenient to get to city hall station and airport limousine bus stop from here. Many eateries nearby. I would recommend this to short stay solo travellers who just want a simple room that fulfils basic needs.
Good location.
Welcoming personnel.
Clean room.
Good location
The location, cleanness and staff helpfulness were excellent. And I loved the good coffee.
The location is wonderful. Easy to reach via train, bus and especially if using the airport bus it is excellent. There are a lot of food options around the area too. There is coffee, tea available all day in the kitchen and it is possible to make your own meals if necessary.
Near by convenience store and alot of pathways to use
Well situated in Seoul city centre. Good for the price.
Check-in was really easy as it was self-check-in. The space was pretty clean. Amenities were available. The location is around a bunch of restaurants and bars. Not to far way from Seoul station and the main palace.
