Soo Guest House
Your Seoul Retreat
First Impressions
Walking into Soo Guest House, you immediately get that cozy, well-run vibe that makes you think someone actually cares about this place. It’s tucked into a narrow street in Jung-gu, and honestly, the building itself isn’t going to win any architecture awards β but that’s not really the point here. The lobby is compact and clean, with that understated Korean aesthetic that feels more like staying at a thoughtful friend’s place than some corporate hotel chain. You know what struck me most? How quiet it was, considering we’re basically in the heart of Seoul.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about the location β it’s genuinely exceptional, and I mean that in practical terms, not just marketing speak. You’re on Toegye-ro, which puts you within easy walking distance of Myeongdong’s shopping chaos and Namsan Tower if you’re feeling touristy. But more importantly for daily life, there’s a subway station literally around the corner, and I found myself using it constantly to hop around the city. The neighborhood has that perfect mix where you can grab street food at 11 PM or find a decent coffee shop for morning caffeine. Couples seem to particularly love it here β and after spending time wandering these streets, I can see why the romantic appeal works.
The Rooms
The rooms at Soo Guest House are what I’d call smartly designed rather than spacious β this is Seoul, after all, where every square meter counts. Everything feels purposeful though, from the storage solutions to the way they’ve positioned the desk near the window. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given at three-star places), and the bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure. What I appreciated most was how clean everything felt, and there’s good natural light during the day. It’s not upscale by any stretch, but it’s the kind of room where you can actually relax after a long day of exploring the city.
Morning Fuel
Breakfast here covers both Asian and American options, which sounds basic but actually works really well in practice. You can go for the familiar Western stuff if you’re not feeling adventurous, or try some Korean dishes if you want to ease into local flavors before hitting the streets. I found myself mixing both β maybe some rice and kimchi with scrambled eggs, which probably sounds weird but somehow worked. The breakfast area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you’re an early riser, you’ll have more space to yourself.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Soo Guest House isn’t trying to be something it’s not β and that’s exactly why it works so well. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you navigate Seoul, the location saves you time and money on transportation, and everything just functions smoothly. With a 9.4 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most people who stay here. It’s the kind of place where you spend your money on experiencing Seoul rather than paying for hotel amenities you won’t use anyway. If you want a reliable, well-located base for exploring the city without breaking the bank, this three-star gem delivers exactly what it promises.
Exploring Seoul offers visitors an unforgettable journey through South Korea’s dynamic capital, from its historic Joseon palaces to its futuristic districts and world-renowned Korean entertainment culture.

Guest Reviews
I really recommend staying here specifically if you are a solo traveler. It was in a great location and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything
Momo and Kookoo are so welcoming and kind hosts! I had such a comfortable stay thanks to them! The room was so clean and tidy and they provided everything I needed for my stay. Momo even gave me a special present before I left. They really are the sweetest! I will definitely book with them again next time Iβm back in Seoul. I highly recommend them βΊοΈ
Nice place in good area of Seul (attractions, restaurants, convenience store on the corner). Small, clean room for sure fine for short stay, longer it might be difficult for me and my daughter because suitcases took the whole space π«£ Simple breakfast in the price. Nice owner who helped us to book taxi to airport and bring all suitcases to the car. Very important is that this area is with steps and hills, to get to the guest house you need to also took the stairs, it was not easy with the big suitcase. But for us it was only stop before back to home after long trip in Korea so I known what to expect.
Bery good service
The location is very convenient. The staff was so warm and welcoming. Very clean, they are constantly cleaning! Willing to help with whatever! Definitely would recommend π
Really friendly staff who went out of their way to help.
Breakfast is great. Staff are nice and friendly. They are also fangirls themselves and loves to interact with their guests. Accessible to the metro.
Very nice place, good experience, close to the metro and many other things
Very clean, easy to find, Momo & Kookoo such a good helper also to explain about everything.
The area also close by to the road, nice restaurants & cafe, and very close to Namsan Tower too.
The guesthouse is in a very central area of Myeongdong, surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, and close to subway and bus stops. The room was very clean and cozy. Breakfast included eggs, milk, cereal, and more.
Momo and her sister were incredibly helpful, and they even gave us gifts when we left! I definitely recommend staying here, and I'll certainly come back again when when I visit Seoul.
