Sejong Hotel Seoul Myeongdong
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what struck me first about Sejong Hotel Seoul Myeongdong? It’s got this refreshingly straightforward vibe that cuts through all the typical hotel pretense. I mean, when you’re staying in the heart of Myeongdong – honestly, one of the most tourist-packed areas you’ll find in Seoul – you expect either complete chaos or some sterile business hotel trying too hard to impress. This place actually manages to thread the needle pretty well.
The 4-star rating feels spot-on, and that 7.7 guest rating? Yeah, I get it. It’s not going to blow your mind with cutting-edge design or over-the-top luxury, but there’s something genuinely comfortable about the whole experience. The rooms have this clean, unfussy Korean aesthetic – think warm wood tones and quality bedding without a bunch of unnecessary flourishes. What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details that matter when you’re jet-lagged and just want things to work. The shower pressure is actually decent (trust me, this matters more than fancy marble), and the blackout curtains do their job when you’re fighting that brutal time difference.
Location-wise, you’re literally in the thick of everything – and I mean everything. Step outside and you’re immediately surrounded by street food vendors, cosmetic shops, and that constant buzz of Myeongdong’s shopping district. It can get pretty intense during peak hours, especially on weekends when the Korean shopping crowds mix with international tourists. But here’s the thing – the hotel’s positioning on a slightly quieter side means you get easy access without feeling like you’re sleeping inside a carnival. The nearby Myeong-dong Cathedral gives the area this interesting mix of old Seoul charm against all the commercial energy. You can walk to Dongdaemun in about 20 minutes if you want to escape the cosmetics madness, or hit up Namdaemun Market for some serious street food adventures. The staff seems to genuinely know their neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this tiny Korean barbecue spot tucked away in an alley that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, for the price point and location, it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not, which in a city full of flashy hotels competing for attention, feels kind of refreshing.
Best hotels in Seoul range from luxurious properties in the upscale Gangnam district to boutique hotels with stunning views of Namsan Tower and the Han River.

easy access to anywhere
Location… so very close to airport limousine bus stop and within 10 mins to Myeongdong night market street. The triple room we got was big enough for our needs. Room is very clean, bed is firm, pillows are soft. Front desk personnel very helpful.
The room was spacious even with all the luggage we had. The amenities were complete and the room was relatively clean. The best part is the location, it's right in front of the subway station and close to many restaurants and convenience stores.
Near bus and train station. Complete amenities. Easy check in and check out. Myeondong street is just behind the hotel.
