Puerto Varas -3mins to Samjeon Station, 16mins to Gangnam, Coex

The location is genuinely brilliant if you’re planning to bounce between different parts of the city. Three minutes to Samjeon Station sounds almost too good to be true, but I timed it – it’s actually more like a two-minute walk if you’re not dragging massive luggage behind you. And honestly, having that subway connection right there changes everything about exploring Seoul. You can grab breakfast at the hotel, hop on the line, and you’re wandering through Gangnam’s gleaming streets before your coffee gets cold. The Coex mall thing is spot-on too, though I’d say it’s closer to 12-14 minutes during non-rush hours if you know which exit to take.

What struck me most about this place is how they’ve managed to balance that Korean efficiency with actual comfort – and I don’t mean the sterile kind you sometimes get in business hotels. The rooms have this lived-in quality that makes you want to actually spend time there, not just crash after a day of sightseeing. The beds are properly firm (thank god), and the windows are thick enough that you won’t hear every delivery truck rumbling by at dawn. I actually slept past 7 AM here, which never happens to me in Seoul. The staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to grab decent late-night food when you stumble back from Hongdae, or which convenience store has the best coffee selection. There’s this one front desk guy who drew me an actual map to this tiny restaurant three blocks away that serves incredible kimchi jjigae until 2 AM. That’s the kind of local intel you can’t Google, you know? The hotel itself feels like it belongs in the neighborhood rather than dropped on top of it, which is rarer than you’d think. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the lobby’s a bit cramped during check-in rush, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole operation that just works.
