I could walk to Myeongdong Cathedral in about three minutes, and all those famous cosmetics shops and department stores are right outside your door. But here’s what locals know – if you walk just five minutes toward Hoehyeon Station, you’ll find some incredible hole-in-the-wall restaurants that most tourists never discover because they’re too busy hitting up the main drag. The staff actually gave me directions to this tiny place that serves the best kimchi jjigae I had during my entire trip. They seem to genuinely know the area, not just the tourist spots. Check-in was smooth too – no weird delays or confusing instructions, and they spoke enough English to help with restaurant recommendations and subway directions. Honestly, for a 3-star place with an 8.5 rating, it punches above its weight class because they clearly put thought into the guest experience rather than just throwing money at fancy lobby decorations.
