Nine Tree by Parnas Seoul Myeongdong 2
Your Seoul Retreat
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Nine Tree by Parnas Seoul Myeongdong 2, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a hotel with such a specific name. But after staying there, I actually get why they branded it that way. It’s part of this newer wave of boutique-style hotels that Nine Tree has been rolling out across Seoul, and honestly, they’ve nailed the sweet spot between modern comfort and that neighborhood feel that makes Myeongdong so addictive.
The location is what really sold me on this place. You know how some hotels claim to be “in the heart of everything” but you end up walking fifteen minutes to get anywhere decent? Not here. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by some of the best Korean BBQ spots I’ve found (there’s this tiny place two blocks down that locals actually go to), and the subway access is genuinely convenient – not that fake convenient that travel sites love to throw around. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central. The rooms have this solid soundproofing thing going on, which is clutch when you’re trying to recover from a night exploring Seoul’s food scene. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works properly and the staff actually seems to care about getting things right. I had this small issue with the room key on my second day, and instead of the usual runaround, they just fixed it immediately and threw in some local snacks as an apology.
What struck me most was how the hotel feels like it belongs in the neighborhood rather than just being dropped there by some corporate chain. The lobby has this relaxed vibe where you’ll see both tourists plotting their next shopping adventure and Korean business travelers grabbing quick meetings over coffee. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you experience the little touches – like how they stock the minibar with actual Korean snacks instead of overpriced international stuff, or how the concierge genuinely knows which markets are worth hitting early morning versus late afternoon. I stayed there during cherry blossom season (probably not the smartest timing budget-wise, but whatever), and even with the city packed, the hotel maintained this calm efficiency that let me actually enjoy being in Seoul rather than stressing about logistics. If you’re looking for something that feels authentically Korean but still hits all the comfort marks for international travelers, this spot delivers without making a big show of it.
