New two room house in station area
Your Seoul Retreat
You know what caught me off guard about the New two room house in station area? I was expecting some cramped little place squeezed next to train tracks, but this spot actually has character. Yeah, it’s right in the thick of the station district – and I mean, you’ll definitely hear the morning commuter rush if you’re a light sleeper – but there’s something oddly charming about being dropped right into the pulse of everyday local life.
The two-room setup works better than you’d think, honestly. It’s not fancy (we’re talking solid 3-star territory here), but whoever set this place up actually thought about how real people travel. The main room has enough space to spread out your stuff without tripping over your suitcase every five minutes, and the second room – well, it’s perfect if you’re traveling with someone who snores or likes to stay up scrolling their phone. I appreciated having that separation. The whole place has this lived-in feel that’s way more comfortable than those sterile hotel boxes you usually get. Little touches like actual hangers (not those security ones that never work) and decent lighting for reading made a difference.
Here’s the thing about staying in the station area – and locals will tell you this – you’re basically at the heart of everything without paying tourist-trap prices. I could grab coffee and pastries from this little bakery two blocks over that clearly caters to commuters, not visitors, which meant actual good coffee at normal prices. The evening crowd brings a different energy too; there’s this buzz of people heading home or meeting friends that gives you a real sense of place. Sure, it gets quiet after about 10 PM, but that worked for me. Parking can be a bit of a hunt during weekday mornings (those commuters grab every spot), but evenings and weekends? No problem. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that over-the-top hospitality theater, just someone who knew what they were doing and got me settled quickly. I’d honestly stay here again, especially for the price point and that authentic neighborhood vibe you just can’t get in the touristy parts of town.
