Metime Forest

You know what? Metime Forest is one of those places that completely caught me off guard – and honestly, I almost didn’t book it because the name made me think it was going to be some cheesy wellness retreat with mandatory meditation sessions. I mean, I was so wrong about that. This 3-star gem sits tucked away in what feels like your own private slice of woodland, and the moment you pull up (parking‘s actually really easy, by the way), you get why they called it what they did.

The whole vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious – it’s like someone took a boutique hotel concept but stripped away all the trying-too-hard elements. My room had this perfect mix of rustic charm and actual comfort, with windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that’s becoming) so you can hear the forest sounds at night. The beds are surprisingly good for a 3-star – I’m pretty picky about mattresses and slept like a rock every night. What really struck me was how quiet it gets after around 9 PM; you’re far enough from main roads that the only sounds are genuinely natural ones, which was exactly what I didn’t know I needed.

The staff here really knows their stuff – not in that overly rehearsed concierge way, but more like locals who genuinely want you to have a good time. They pointed me toward this incredible hiking trail that starts basically from the hotel’s back entrance (wear decent shoes though, it gets muddy after rain), and honestly, that morning walk became the highlight of my whole stay. The breakfast situation is solid too – nothing fancy, but everything tastes fresh and they actually make decent coffee, which frankly puts them ahead of plenty of 4-star places I’ve stayed at. I will say the WiFi can be a bit spotty in some rooms, but given the setting, that felt more like a feature than a bug. If you’re the type who needs to be constantly connected, maybe give them a heads up when booking to get a room with better signal.
