The lobby has this lived-in quality – comfortable seating that looks like people actually use it, local artwork that isn’t trying too hard, and staff who seem to know the area beyond just the standard tourist recommendations. When I asked about hiking trails, the front desk person didn’t just hand me a brochure – she actually marked up a map with her personal favorites and warned me about a section that gets muddy after rain.

What really won me over, though, was the attention to those small details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully laid out (not huge, but who needs huge when everything has its place?), and honestly, I slept better than I have in some supposedly fancier places. The walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing your neighbors’ entire life story, which – let’s be real – is crucial. The bathrooms are updated without being sterile, and there’s actually decent water pressure, which I’ve learned not to take for granted. Parking was straightforward too, none of that circling-the-block nonsense or surprise fees. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without any flashy distractions. I’d definitely stay again, and that’s saying something because I’m usually the type who likes to try somewhere new each time. Sometimes you just find a place that feels right, you know?
